TAMPA BAY PLEASE

Had their number all season, of course that can change as the playoffs are no given, but I like the matchup. Plus, how bout some good ol fashioned retribution on Hagel? As in a nice cross check to the face when he's not looking

Montreal seems to be of a very similar skill set to the Sabres, fast and hungry.  Their goalie has been playing well, but I think he could be a weak link should we play Montreal

Both teams are going to be a very, very difficult matchup, however

I can't answer this.

The Sabres will fare better against Tampa but suffer more injuries and be less able to win the semifinal.

The Sabres will not fare as well against Montreal, but it would be one interesting FAST series and the Sabres should emerge relatively healthy.

I think a series with the Habs would be infinitely more entertaining hockey, so thats what I am going with.

How does this make any sense? Why would you ever want to play the better team in the playoffs?

F these rivalries from the 70s. I want to play the team we have the best chance of DEFEATING

I don;'t have a good enough grasp on which would be better for the Sabres.

Okay, your house is currently flooding

The only way to stop it from becoming a river is choosing an opponent for the Sabres

Who do you pick

Tampa all day long. 1) We handled them late in the season. 2) MTL is scarier to me. 3) TBL fans aren't taking over Key Bank Center like MTL fans will. 4) Easier for Sabres fans to take over Benchmark Arena in Tampa, and we will!

I was very strongly TB a week or two ago. But I think the Sabres really struggled to match up to Boston's playoff style hockey at times so now I'm leaning more towards a wide open match up against Montreal.

Either way I hope they go into 4 maybe even 5 OT's tomorrow.

I voted Tampa for similar reasons.  But I worry about playoff officiating versus regular season officiating.  Tampa's clutch and grab stuff much less likely to be called in a playoff matchup.  Never mind their rougher stuff.

Call me crazy, and no. I haven't been drinking today. If we play Montreal, it's going 6 or 7 games easily. If we play Tampa, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Sabres could sweep the Lighting. Buffalo just knows how to handle Tampa.

It's hard to say, and I don't really care which one it is but if I had to pick, it would be Tampa because we know how to beat them more than we know how to beat Montreal. To me the Habs are very much like the Sabres, so it can't be easy trying to figure out how to beat a team that's just like us, can it?

My only concern with the bolts is we are already nicked up. A series against Tampa will definitely increase the chances of us heading to third round even more nicked up.
