I think the only reason there's a sea of red at KBC when the Habs are in town is because all the habs fans within a 150 mile radius of Buffalo grab their tickets as soon as soon as they go on sale during the summer for the couple of games that they know Montreal will be here during the regular season. They don't have that same luxury for the playoffs, nor would that many of them take a chance on spending crazy money for playoff games when they don't even know if the habs would be playing there. 3 Quote
Jävə Keith Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 OK, so I was fortunate enough to get in the que and buy 2 tickets for home Games 1, 3, & 4. I don't plan on using them all (my wife would kill me if I spent that much money on Sabres Tickets). So I plan to pick one of the games to go to and sell the other 2 to help pay for it. Which Game should I keep and go to? Quote

Which Game should I keep and go to? Which to keep and which to sell? Depends on what you're goal is. Do you definitely want to see a game? Then game 1 it is. Do you definitely want to see a handshake line if the game is played but with a pretty solid likelihood the game won't be played Then game 4 (aka game 7) it is. Do you want to have a good likelihood of seeing a game but not definite WITH a possibility of seeing a handshake line? Then game 3 (aka game 5) it is. (Gee, no Schlitz Sherlock, thanks for that. No problem. Here to help. 😉 ) 1 Quote

I respect your opinion and getting outside perspective helps me to think this through. One outside motivating factor is, what game could I sell for the highest to help pay for the one I go to? I'm guessing the most likely to sell for the highest amount will be game 1 or 4 (aka game 7 of the series). ??? 1 Quote
Jävə Keith Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Also, I've never sold tickets before. Which is better to use - directly through Ticketmaster or Stubhub? Quote
Punch Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 I was able to get through and score two tickets in the 300 level for Game 1. I'm not sure I can keep up with the escalating prices as they advance further but I intend to try. 1 Quote

Would expect game 7 would get you the highest price but it also will give you the greatest likelihood of a Habs fan buying your tix (if that matters to you, it might not, and honestly whoever buys from you could potentially turn around and sell them too so even if you sell to a Sabres fan it isn't a guarantee that the people that use the tix will be Sabres fans; only way to essentially guarantee that is to sell to someone you know). And the filp side is, that game has the least likelihood of getting played so it also will most liekly net you $0 after the tix get returned/refunded because the game didn't end up actually getting played. Would expect game 1 would get you the next highest price as the game will definitely be played and it'll be the 1st round 2 game the Sabres will have played since the PT season 19 years ago. All that is speculation. Wonder if some of the other ticket selling sites have some stats they'd share with people considering listing with them? 2 minutes ago, Jävə Keith said: Also, I've never sold tickets before. Pretty sure @SDS usually buys from Stubhub or one of the other non-TM resellers. He'd probably have some insights. 1 Quote
quill Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 I can understand why your wife might "kill" you. Buying tickets at prices that are already highly inflated with plans of re-selling them for a profit doesn't always turn out to be such a wise business venture. Quote

And I buy a lot of aftermarket tickets. I will also check out TickPick and gametime, but don’t purchase their very often. 2 Quote

Derrico Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 I’m fortune to already have tickets in Buffalo but I’ll be keeping a close eye on when Montreal tickets go on sale to the general public IF they win tomorrow. A Montreal road trip sounds like a blast! Particularly considering the arena is almost exactly the same distance from where I live (3 hours 36 min to Bell Centre vs 3 hours 30 min to Keybank). 3 1 Quote

LGR4GM Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 It was 396 per ticket in the 300s when I got into ticketmaster and that was not resale. Quote

Ctaeth Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Will there be more going on sale to general public? Missed this unfortunately Quote
TheAud Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Got two for Gane 5, 100 level. I’ll be in town for my daughter’s UB graduation. Unknown if I’ll be able to go pending what day it ends up being scheduled. Figured I’ll resell and eat any loss if needed. This is the only time I’ll be in Buffalo for this playoff season so I gotta take my chances. 3 1 Quote
Mustache of God Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 (edited) I bit the bullet and bought a pair of tickets in section 101 for $880, Def the most iive ever paid for any titicket ticticket to anything. I've got a friend to split it with me, but damn. Will probably be my only until the finals... Edited May 2 by Mustache of God 2 Quote

Missed this unfortunately There will likely be a small handful of whatever tix are reserved for the league & the opponent that don't end up needed by them but have absolutely no idea when those tix tend to go on sale. At least this AM the resale market wasn't much over what the Sabres were asking for. Haven't looked at what it's like since this AM. Quote
