These other teams the last two night closed it out on home ice, we blew that. End it tonight. We are a much better team than Boston, we need to stop letting them try and slow the game down and muck it up to negate our speed and skill advantage. 5 1 Quote

Try? And how do we do that? This is the playoff hockey the NHL endorses. Can you imagine the NFL operating like that? Mahomes wouldn't have sniffed a Super Bowl. It's demoralizing to wait 15 years and have to face the 1995 Devils. 1 1 2 4 Quote

If the holds and interference were called as it is in the regular season, this series would be over already. But the Chief's hater in me wants to change your football analogy. The Chiefs' secondary operates under they "can't call 'em all" principle and holds like crazy. Spags almost dares the refs to call it, and they almost never do. The one time they did call the holds in the 1st quarter (which is the way to stop it) was, of course, against Tom Brady and the Bucs in the Super Bowl. That's not the only reason the Chiefs lost that game, but it certainly played a role. Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 Sabres gotta find a way. 1 goal isn't good enough and the perimeter ***** from last game isn't gonna work. They gotta drive the net and get traffic in front of Swayman. They need to shoot more and stop the fancy passing theatrics. Go Sabres. 2 4 2 Quote
Stads Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 I'm putting this back out there again. Tonight is the night! I feel it in my balls. It's not the Chlamydia rearing it's ugly head again. Definitely the feeling of victory! 3 1 Quote

The perimeter shirt is what's held this team back the last 3-5 years. It is the default for the most important players on this roster. It's responsible for both losses this series. UPL v Lyon is the biggest different in result. Quote
zow2 Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 Usually one team in the first round blows a 3-1 or 3-2 series lead. Better not be us this season. If it happens it's because Swayman simply outduels Lyon. I'm breaking out the emotional hedge bet tonight. Putting money on the Bruins. If Buffalo wins I'm thrilled to advance and "pay" for a win. If Boston wins, my account will be swollen with funds. Either way the night ends with something. Don't forget, Dallas was like 5 mins away from winning game 4 in regulation at Minnesota. Then they were just one OT goal away from going up 3-1 in the series. These OT goals win series. I think tonight may come down to OT again for us. 1 1 Quote

Not the correct amount. The amount of holding that Boston did in the 3rd period and in OT was criminal. But it is normalized and expected that things are let go. Boston would have felt abused and ripped off if they were called for holding Tage in game 5. The league pushes and promotes speed and skill teams and players all season long, until the playoffs. Then they purposely equalize things for slower and less skilled teams. I know you dislike comments on the officiating but the NHL flagrantly does this. 1 1 1 Quote

CallawaySabres Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 There are no hockey Gods, this was proven in 99. If there was ever a team who you think the NHL would benefit from a team advancing another round, it's Buffalo. There has been a ton of hype about the crowds, the city, the 14 year drought, all of it. We are going to find out tonight if Buffalo has stepped out of the shadows when we see how the penalties get called this evening. I don't feel great after the muggings that took place in OT last game. We are going to rip into this team tonight, and as long as Lyon shows up, no need for my tickets on Sunday. I packed every ounce of blue, gold, Goathead I could get my hands on and may combine both for karma - GET IT FCKN DONE! 1 1 1 Quote

Carmel Corn Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 Boston is probably feeling pretty good about themselves…..so get on them early, get a lead and score a PP goal (or two). 2 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 Use their speed and forecheck, they will win. Maybe even big time. Play cautious and conservative and it's a toss up. Only X factor is Swayman. If he plays like Hasek he can steal any game. Fortunately he's not Hasek. 2 Quote
