all this talk of losing the series is getting on my last nerve.  This team has shown quite recently their ability to Dub in Boston

I'm not going to go all slit my wrists because we lost in OT yesterday

I'm going to wait until it goes to game 7 and then I'll be  gripping. Not Now

For me Östlund was a significant loss. its time to regroup and refocus on the matter at hand. which is adjusting and keep it moving forward

The Kids are Alright! It's good experience to see how they respond, I'm excited to see it.

Losing Noah stinks, but this team lost key players throughout the season and still posted the best record in the league from December onward.

I don't hear any fat lady singing. Keep the faith Sabres fans. This is a team of destiny.

Sabres finished the regular season 6-3-1 without him. 🤷‍♂️

They're deep and they're playing well.

But started 2-3 with ugly losses to Detroit Ottawa and Washington.

Then Norris picked it up and got hot in the last 5 games.  We won 4 in a row including Tampa and a desperate Columbus team.

We did lose to Boston in OT with Östlund and no Norris on March 25.

Norris has to play excellent and most importantly not be hurt for this team to close it out.  If he can play well we should win this series.

Norris can go.

Geeeee....IF , we could just fix the Powerplay 🤔

Östlund was part of that fix.

This is all a disaster.

Look, the young bucks here may be incredulous - but I have almost 40 years of seeing the same movie.

Im so dejected today.

This team needs its important parts bc there is no superstar to consistently take over games.

It's not so much the players, but more so the scheme.

Too much fancy puck BS, PASSES  and NOT ENOUGH SHOTS ON NET!

JFC, stop whining. It's pro sports, injuries happen. We're more than capable of winning this series and next series without Östlund.

Agreed… People have such a short memory. They won the division without him!

I don’t know what fraction of folks thought the SC was possible.  I’ve been one of them.

F experience.  These guys were ready a perfect mix of vets, excellent youth, and a whole bunch of guys that dealt with greater adversity then being down 1-0 in the first period of a playoff game.

That’s great they may win this series or like you said the next.  The roster they entered the playoffs could win the WHOLE THING.

What a soft take. Perhaps you should just stop following them then, since you're convinced it's such a "disaster". It's not - it's routine playoff hockey.

“Soft take?”  Reality?  Blind homerism we got this everyone!  That better for you?

That’s great -  and maybe I’ll feel better when I see proof of life from Norris.

Which I haven’t in weeks.  It’s not just the Östlund injury.  It’s that the guy who should be 2C is hurt as well.

Everyone remembers that 2006 playoff exit as wildly disappointing bc the backups didn’t step up.  Those injuries were just part of “routine playoff hockey!”

Norris, Östlund, Carrick.  Center depth has been pushed.  It’s game 6 of round 1.

But it’s just routine playoff hockey I guess.

Soft take.  Goodness.  Just let me vent.

Buffalo sports and injuries go hand in hand.  Every single year.

"Blind homerism"? - you really have the extremes covered, don't you? Stop crying. Or don't, I don't care. We're winning this series.

I’d hate to see some of you under any kind of real stress. If we can’t win a playoff series without Noah Östlund we don’t deserve to win a playoff series. That goes for every single player on the Sabres. Is the city and fandom that mentally weak or have we just forgot what the playoffs are? Goodness gracious, it’s everywhere.

Next man up mentality is what is being said in the room, imo.

I like Östlund a lot but it’s not like they lost a 1C, 1D or 1G. Even those kind of losses need to be put aside and move forward.

Östlund was playing better than Norris, is better than Kozak and Dunne but it’s not like losing McJesus and hoping Henrique can pick up the slack. I know when the margin of victory is very slim every small advantage helps. There is depth on this team and this will test it. Those scratches are chomping at the bit to get in, here is their chance to make an impact and stay in the lineup.

If Carrick can come back in the next round, that will be a nice addition to the C spine.
