Awesome

no. After the second one. Yes they played the same song twice. the second one went to 11.

and to appreciate it it would have to be a wide angle shot of the whole crowd. I don’t know what the capacity is, but it was 20,000 people chanting that in unison and it just kept going and going and going. Like I said it was completely nuts.

This is worthy of its own topic. If anyone has any link on social media proud singing enchanting two TNT after the second goal please post it.

that was completely bananas.

And then they just had “TNT - fight fight fight” part on loop long after the song normally would have moved on.

It was probably louder than any let’s go buffalo chant I’ve ever heard. The words are crisper and not sing songy. Just hard card enchanting with fest in the air and waving towels.

Probably one of the greatest non-action related sports moments I have ever experienced.

Same here. It was awesome. Crowd was absolutely jacked.

How can it be organic if it was pre-recorded and over the PA?

I am not sure what you’re getting at here. It’s his goal song so I’m sure they have a canned clip that they play. It certainly didn’t take away from anything.

This was after the first goal. There was an extended scrum after the goal which allowed them to play an extended version of TNT with the crowd chanting “Oy, Oy, Oy.” The broadcast clip stinks it doesn’t do it justice whatsoever. Second Tage goal the crowd wanted it again but they rushed the puck drop.

That could be. My memory is atrocious.

and I should’ve said I always say, yell fight, fight, fight because I think it fits better. Sang it like that since I was 11.

The Cover 1 X post refers to it happening “organically”, as though it was crowd driven, when it would obviously have to be driven by the sound person letting the TNT loop play. Doesn’t make it any less awesome.

I rewatched the third this morning and it’s a real shame that the broadcast didn’t do it justice. One of the coolest moments I’ve ever seen at the arena.

I am driving through Pennsylvania at the moment. Should be passing through Williamsport in an hour.

Ah, didn’t know that was his goal song.

Did anyone else notice “Proud Mary” being played when the game was over and people were leaving?

Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on

Nice job, as Rob would say.

They might've kept the loop going longer than normal (or tbh that was the 1st time that this kid heard the crowd get into it to really any extent) because the crowd was getting into it.  Normally they just play a brief snip of that song during a random TV timeout.  So, though the crowd cheers, they don't really get into it.  Playing it after the goal was darn near, if not, a 1st this season.

And since mid-January, when they do randomly spotlight Thompson, it's been to Freebird for the US Olympic team.  This was the 1st game in a while that they didn't play Freebird at all.  (Guess the Olympic team only paid them to do it through the regular season.  😉 )

They did.  But was waiting for them to play the clip of Gilbert singing that from an alumni game back when the "new" rink was just opened and if they did play it, it was very late after the game ended.  THAT was really cool and brings back memories of when they'd play a clip of Bert from "Elvis Impersonator Night" after every win.  They'd just started doing that in the last 2-3 weeks.  Hope they use that one rather than the one they did last night.  More of the "proper" vibes to it.

I just checked a couple of lyric sites and they all have it as Oi. I also named my first dog after Angus Young and that’s how I’ve always remembered it. Either way, it was a great moment.

I think the "organic" part is that the crowd continued chanting it after the recording stopped.  And that it was the WHOLE crowd.  It's good the whole crowd has something to yell.

I will say as someone who's been to numerous Sabres games in Dallas, their team goal song (recorded for them by Pantera) is pretty intimidating when they get to the chant part, which is simply a deep double bass hit and yelling DALLAS then another hit and STARS I think three times...then they jam and go through the DALLAS STARS chant again.  When you're rooting for the visitors it's simply wilting.

That was one of my favorite moments. Also, not sure if they showed it on tv but one of the best moments for me was when the Bruins would not leave the ice during warmups and Swayman took two shots at the empty net and missed both. The booing was deafening and fantastic. I mean, talk about poking the bear...

Last night was the Tina Turner version I think.

Beat me to it. Food production is my gig (well quality actually).

I'm actually surprised it took so long for the stadium crew to figure this out! It seems kind of obvious, doesn't it? I mean, Buffalo and AC/DC go together like wings and blue cheese.
