Everyone worried about their speed also should know they are very physical too. They are physical. And they have a few monsters like Anderson, Slafkovsky, and Xejai. But for the most part they're smaller than Buffalo is. Buffalo should be able to wear them down a bit. Quote
DarthEbriate Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 Good. A changing of the guard in the Atlantic. (though the return of Barkov will have something to say about it, but that is not for this season and this thread.) 1 Quote
Apollo Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 The national anthems in both buildings and fan reactions will be interesting. Quote

There will be a sea of red and Ole Ole being sung at Keybank on Wednesday. ***** Buffalo luck. Not really. My seasons in 310 are $110 per game. I bought another pair for a friend five rows behind mine. They costs a total of $736 for two seats direct from the Sabres presale. Anyone who has bought during presale is going to find that after fees the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Season tickets holders might sell, but I don’t get what the point of being a STH would be. It’s not like there’s a lot of people who have them to solely sell secondary. My guess is less than 20% Habs fans. Quote
shrader Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 I’m glad to see Florida’s 6 year reign of terror is officially over. 1 1 Quote
SwampD Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 There were a fair amount of red jerseys in Tampa last night for a game 7. Good to see it’s not just KeyBank Arena. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 In Nikita Kucherov's last 23 playoff games he has but two goals over the last four years. The Lightening have been ousted in last four first rounds That seems really strange. He is an offensive machine but in playoffs he has nothing? With gambling as pervasive as it is, I can't help but wonder if something is up there Quote

Buffalo would match that with Dahlin, Samuelsson, Byram, and Power. Buffalo beats them in terms of size and reach but I would argue the skill levels are similar. Buffalo probably edges them slightly in the top 4 because Power is a better 4 than Carrier in terms of potential. Offense... idk they are runing Suzuki, Caufiled, Slafs, Demidov up front. We have Tage, Tuch, Krebs, and Doan? I think are middle is deeper but their top is deeper if that makes sense. There is a lot more speed and a lot more skill than Boston. We really need Tage to up his game a bit and everyone else as well. I find both teams to be deep. I wish we had Östlund available or Carrick. 1 Quote
Jorcus Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 In terms of goal production Montreal's top line had 110 regular season goals vs our top line of 85. Combine the 2nd and third lines we produced 109 goals vs 67 for Montreal. That is with the personnel used in the most recent games. The key is stopping the 1st line and getting continued production from our 2nd and third lines. Our top 4 D scored 51 goals vs 38 for them. We have to crack Dobes which is something Tampa had trouble with. We can certainly lose but on paper I think we match up pretty well. I wonder if Metsa comes back in for Stanly. Speed is going to be important on the back end. I don't mind Kozak on the 4th line because he defends well and can play against the speedy Montreal players. I like Östlund a lot but If Norris can't come though now then I don't think he should be here next year. Quote
