This Could Become the Heart of the Team

Article from The Hockey Writers about the Benson - Norris - Doan line.  Their metrics individually are great.  Together they form one of the best lines in hockey.

It seems like in past seasons, switching lines was more about trying to fit square pegs in round holes.  This season it seems like Lindy has bunch of options to produce truly effective lines that makes it tough for teams to defend.  Sure, maybe a team shuts down Tage's line.  But then the Norris line pops up to bite the other team in the ass.  It's like a game of Whack-A-Mole for the other team.

norris does not have great scoring stats but all our forwards have to keep one eye open to cover for the dman going up ice. Norris and Mcloud are probably the best st reading and covering

They are also very good at carrying the puck through the neutral zone with speed.

Norris has struggled to finish lately, but overall has produced at a 60-point pace.

His skillset seems like a great fit with the team’s two best puck hounds and the line looked fantastic Thursday.

Probably more likely it will just be a different line scoring every game. Quinn one night, Krebs another night, Beck getting a game winner here, Tage a hattie there, Dahlin a game winner over yonder, oh ya, Zucker and Tuck, too.

I hope they all get their names on the cup this year. (Can't believe I just seriously wrote that!)

Go Sabres!

Or Sarbes, or whatever, lol

I think we're gonna see Tage go ballistic. Hes been cold, he's knows he cold. Hes saving it

I'm talking like a goal in 4 straight games. Hes due and HES READY

Agreed.

As much as we like Benson and Doan in the regular season, I think their games will translate even better to the playoffs.

I want to see Doan with Tage again. Give Norris Krebs until he gets out of his funk

Norris leads the Sabres over the past 8 games with 7 points. Tage has 5.

One of the best things about this year is how players are taking turns in who scores.

Team has 12 players with or pacing for 40 points, with Östlund just under.

40 doesn’t sound like a big deal, but Boston has 7, Montreal 7, Ottawa 8 and Tampa 6.

Our depth is a real thing.

I have always joked that this is the Lindy Ruff way. The guy just has a way of making everybody a 20 goal scorer.

"Are you a 10 goals per year guy? Well welcome to a Lindy team, you score 20 now!"

"Oh, you are used to scoring 30 goals? Well come on down, because you too are now a 20 goal scorer".
