Stads Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Fairly straightforward. What is your favorite moment of this season? I assume the 8-7 Tampa game will be fairly popular. Regardless, it's been fun experiencing it all with you weirdos Quote
CallawaySabres Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 8-7 was top 3 in-person moments in Sabres history for me so…..yep 2 2 Quote
Apollo Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 vs.Dallas for their 10th win in a row on New Years eve. Quote
Popular Post #freejame Posted April 11 Popular Post Report Posted April 11 (edited) I was given free 200 level tickets and took my son and brother to the 8-7 Tampa game. We got there very early and were able to get my favorite free parking spot and a spot on the glass behind the net for warmups. Peyton Krebs tossed my son a puck (my son’s first time getting a puck). I ordered my son his requested French fries and they gave me a free chicken tender basket instead. There was a family with two girls maybe in their late teens or early twenties that absolutely hit it off with my son. He calls them his girls and asks if they are at any hockey game he watches on tv. The fans in front of us would turn around and give him big high fives every goal which brought the biggest smiles to his face. He also cheesed it up on the Jumbotron. Even without it being the best Sabres game I’ve ever been to, it would be one of the best days of my life. The fact that the game was what it was makes the whole day seem like a dream. Cage Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Tampa game easy..... living in Austin, my wife was out of town and I stopped at Buffalo Wild Wings to catch the game as it was a battle for first place. I usually have a Bills/Sabres group chat w/ my brother and cousins all living outside of Buffalo area. I was filling up the chat with Twitter clips as the mayhem ensued. As they all live outside of town they were finding the game on some streaming hacks and joining in. Best hockey game I ever watched! 1 Quote

My first game in March of 1973 against the Flyers and the Ahmad Rashad Monday night game against the Raiders probably other two. Playoff games still trump them but not by much. 1 1 Quote
Indabuff Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 (edited) 8-7 hands down It's been a long time since I was that innersed in a Sabres game. When people say "I was there" about an event, you know it was significantly memorable. Edited April 11 by Indabuff Quote
muppy Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 online it was the 8-7 game. But I did attend my first NHL game in decades. The experience was grand I loved every second of it. 3 Quote
FrenchConnection44 Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 The 8-7 win is obvious — easily the best NHL game of the year period, imo. Most exciting game in years for me. Aside from that, I loved the 6-2 drubbing of Tampa in Tampa at the end of February the most, 3rd game back from the Olympic break. We had played and beaten Florida the night before. Didn’t think we had much chance then. But jumped on them with 4 goals in the first and 1 at the start of the 2nd to go up 5-0 and knocked Vasilevsky out! I thought there was no way we would win both games. And then we crushed Tampa. Just felt we were unbeatable at that point. Quote
Second Line Center Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Everything Benson does. This might turn out to have been the biggest goal of the year. The shot he takes to make this play… 2 1 1 2 Quote
That Aud Smell Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 yo is this the favourite game or favourite moment thread? c’mon, Spacers. let’s hear about moments, specific plays, instances. Quote
Taro T Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Favorite moment to this point. Reading that Adams had been relieved of his duties. Like @DarthEbriate said above, hoping an even more favorite moment is still in the cards. 5 Quote
Pimlach Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Favorite game - Tampa 8-7. The Tampa game before that one was next, with Stanley being interviewed and wanting to play. Favorite moment on the ice was Tage rag dolling a guy. Also enjoyed the Biz game in Buffalo with the corny Ray spanking. Adams getting fired was more of a relief than anything. It just seemed that the team lacked credibility under his leadership. 2 Quote
tom webster Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 I thought of something else as well. A random Saturday afternoon and I stayed in to watch the complete Rangers v. Red Wings game because it mattered. A great feeling after fourteen years! 1 1 Quote
Punch Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 I attended the 8-7 Tampa game, and any number of moments are worthy candidates, but when Zucker tied it after the home run pass by McLeod, the first thought I had was these guys are scary good and the sky was the limit: 4 1 1 Quote

Not a favorite moment, but one of the best parts about this season is for the 1st time at least since the lockdown and maybe longer have been watching NHL games not involving the Sabres on a nearly nightly basis. Absolutely love this sport. When the Sabres were in the depths of the dark times, would go to watch the local youth teams play or pull up college games, maybe even Amerks, but just couldn't bring myself to watch the actual NHL teams play all that often. Just too depressing and frustrating. Now that the Sabres are back in the league, can watch the best of this sport and actually enjoy it again. It's fun again. The whole darn shooting match is fun. And THAT is the best part of all of this. 2 Quote
pi2000 Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 ..that Zucker goal against Tampa, you just knew they were going to win after he buried that. honorable mention... the Carrick goal in LA, was there with my family happened right in front of us. Good times! 5 1 Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 The game where they went into Big D and just easily beat the high flying Stars. Wasn't even a contest, we just played with them it seemed. That's when I felt we had really become a team that might be considered really good 2 Quote
PASabreFan Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 (edited) Recency bias perhaps but Quinn's empty net roller that merged onto the 90 and went in got me thinking... maybe, just maybe... Edited April 11 by PASabreFan 1 Quote
OverPowerYou Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 My favorite moment was the 8-7 game. The moment that did it for me was the frenzy the crowd was in with just a few minutes left. You would have thought we were in the finals Quote
K-9 Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Not only was the 8-7 game my favorite Sabre game that I ever attended, it is the single best hockey game I ever watched either in person or otherwise. From the 12-6 drubbing of the Soviet Wings to the playoff game vs the Rangers when Drury tied it up with seconds left and every game in between, no other game tops it. 1 Quote
