Have you examined the reasons why all the others were nominated? As usual with these awards, the criteria are weird. Perseverance: Dahlin clearly qualifies. Sportsmanship: He was a victim of attempted homicide at least twice this season. I dunno. Dedication: I guess. It has to be true for all players, no? I'd surmise few have a better perseverance story, most are more sportsmanlike and dedication is a wash. Writers choose this. The story will win out. Edited April 8 by PASabreFan 1 Quote
PASabreFan Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 All the others are insufferable pricks and I hate them. Am I doing this right? 2 2 1 Quote

Ras will be hard to beat on the latter. 1 Quote

Hard to argue with a player who is captain of a team that hadn’t made the playoffs in 14 years whose pregnant fiancée gets ill on vacation just before the season loses the baby and ends up needing a heart transplant, somehow playing through that family crisis and heartache to lead his team to the playoffs while having his best year of his career. If it was movie no one would be believe it. Edited April 8 by GASabresIUFAN Quote
Mustache of God Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Flacco winning resurrected player of the year over Hamlin taught us that nothing is sacred. Dahlin not winning wouldn't surprise me here. Quote

Dahlin is a worthy candidate. It's been a tough year for him off the ice and one of his best seasons on the ice. 3 hours ago, OverPowerYou said: No Hagel or Tkachuk brothers?
