Wyldnwoody44 Posted April 5 Report Posted April 5 Doesn't quite hit the same when we watch them squeak in and play like crap as it happened. Still pumped it's over, but woof, anti climactic is an understatement 1 4 Quote
Carmel Corn Posted April 5 Report Posted April 5 Maybe they should pass out some of these beer sabres in the locker room before the game….the team needs to stop gripping their sticks too hard. Quote
Night Train Posted April 5 Report Posted April 5 They should guarantee a win ...or give fans a certificate for a free Keg of Blue ! 1 Quote

Still, its very odd to hear that a team with 100 points and 5 games left "squeaked in". The Hangover ends tomorrow with a W over Tampa. 1 Quote

It does sound odd to hear it that way, but man, the East is so insane this year that 100 points isn't the same as in previous years. A win over TBL would help the psyche A Lot 2 2 Quote
Gatorman0519 Posted April 5 Report Posted April 5 Geez they need to get back their game quick. It is looking like we are sending last year's team to the playoffs. Not good. Quote

A win over TBL would help the psyche A Lot IF the Habs score holds, the Sabres reclaim 2nd place from the Habs and will have clinched the tiebreaker with them. So, yes, beating TB for the 3rd time in 4 games to take 7 out of 8 from them would be huge, especially if it's in regulation. Sabres would still need a little bit of help to get the division and would also need a little bit of help for the conference, but that would be in play again too as the Canes lost to the Sens today. SwampD Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 I wanted to get one of these so I looked on eBay. Some joker has one listed for $500. That guy can pound sand. Saw another one for $200. Didn't get that one either. How much are they at the arena? Quote

Back 4 or 5 months ago when they were still in stock, they were ~$27 for a 20 oz Labatt's branded beer (Blue, BL, or 1 other version (don't recall which one)) and they were exempt from the STHer discount. AND the line to get them was at LEAST 1/2 hour long. 1st 2 games they were selling them, the line wasn't nearly as ridiculous. When they ended up running out of that evening's inventory those 1st 2 nights they were available, the lines got crazy for the last 2 (IIRC) games that they were actually available at. Quote

So, even with a Ford F150 and gas prices as they are, it would be cheaper for me to drive back to WNY, get a ticket to the Tampa game and just get one, as opposed to buying one from these turkeys. 1 Quote
Taro T Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 Funny thing about this is they have a giveaway for the 1st 5,000 people showing up to the BJs game and a giveaway for the 1st 15,000 to the Stars game; but people will be showing up earlier for this game than for either of those other 2 and this is the only 1 of the 3 that doesn't have a free giveaway. Indabuff Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 Would love to go to tomorrow's game but the Dyngus Day festivities pull is too great for this Pole to overcome. 1 Quote

Well, Dahlin, when asked what the team did that sparked their success this season, he said "drink beers." Edited April 6 by msw2112 Quote

LTS Posted April 7 Report Posted April 7 (edited) 42 minutes ago, Dude said: Why don't they sell these at every game? Because the people who come up with this are also the same ones who recently floated the Tage Long HotDog. They don't know what good ideas are and they grossly underestimated how popular a drinking device that is shaped like the team's name would be with a bunch of people who've had 15 years to develop a severe drinking problem in attempting to cope with this team. Predictably they underestimated the importance and ran out. This was only slightly less obvious than the Olympic organizers failing to estimate the amount of condoms needed for the Olympic Village. Although, there was a Tage Long HotDog in the village during the Olympics I feel confident they didn't need an appropriately sized condom for it.
