Lindy Ruff’s playoff record

His record is 71-61. It might not look amazing but the majority of those games were with mediocre roster’s minus one HOF dbag goalie.  I fondly remember Lindy amping the likes of Dixon Ward, Brian Holzinger, Jason Woolley Toni Lydman, Cody McCormick and the like.  His teams were always playoff ready, even if overmatched.  I know what the Sabres are going through is tough to watch but I’d rather have them sort it out now. I’m confident Lindy will have the boys juiced and ready to tear someone’s face off. I can see Peyton Krebs, Beck Malenstyn, Zach Benson all skating through the end boards.

He could have them all ready to crash through the Zamboni entrance and it won’t matter if the goaltending is combining for a 0.78 save percentage like last night. The thought of going into the playoffs with only UPL playing worth a damn is a little disheartening. Hope he stays hot.

That 2011 team that went 7 games with Philly was pitiful. Philly went on to the finals that year too

I wasn’t expecting much with notable playoff stand outs Thoman Vanek, Tyler Ennis, Derek Roy, and Drew Stafford.

He is 22 and 24 in the first round. This will be the big hurdle for him and this group of untested guys. Malestyn figures to have a big influence as part of  a checking line that sets game tone in the old Lindy way. Hopefully Carrick will be able to play some, his experience is so important to this group. Win the next one boys and keep moving forward!

Let’s see what this group is made of. 
 

One thing to remember, we’ll almost certainly be back next year, so we can build on the experience. 
 

This season has been a surprise, so anything more than what we have already, will just be icing on the cake.
