And I love it!

We now expect, no DEMAND, a victory each and every game!

I can't believe the renewed energy we're feeling as a fan base. It's not only wonderful but something that is long overdue and hopefully this is now the rebirth of our franchise.

I just wish I was living back in WNY so I could be at the games, soaking in the energy and true joy of the a sold out arena! ❤️

Spoiled?  They haven't been relevant since 2008.

They haven't accomplished anything yet.  16 games to go = 32 points on the table.  They have a 9 point cushion to the final WC spot.  There is work to do.

Clinch the playoffs, win a round, then expectations can be set to a reasonable state.

Obviously I'm speaking of this season.

Its amazing how quick they pull us back in, the owner had to have known he can put crap against the wall and the second one ounce of feces sticks we come back like the gaslight ex lovers we are in Buffalo.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying the run but knowing they haven't done anything yet.

Spoiled? I think you misused that word.

Spoiled in the sense that we're now expecting to win every game.

I'm not. That's nuts. If you discovered the team four wins into the most recent streak... I guess.

I never expect any team to win every game. That said, I do expect the Sabres to perform exceedingly well after what they've done this season. So, when they lose I do get irritated. Lord knows at the beginning of the year I didn't even care if they were playing that night.

So there's a change there.  I wouldn't use the term spoiled, but I would use expectant. I no longer hope they win, I expect they will. I understand they won't, but now it's a disappointment where before it was just... nothing.

It's still very fragile. Anyone who feels spoiled right now hasn't been around, methinks.

I'll say that I'm enjoying this ride a lot.  I don't think that makes me spoiled.  When they win three Cups in four years, maybe then.

Wow check out the group think in this thread. All guy said was he was expecting to win. Big deal

You guys need to give the forum a break and go cut the grass or something. All sounding like 90 year old men who have too much time on their hands. I heard there's a MASH marathon on go watch that you'll feel better

That sounds better.

It's gonna get tough. We might even think they could miss the playoffs. We'll likely at some point convince ourselves it's gonna be four and out.

If you think suffering is over, you are surely spoiled.

I think there is a problem with me, or something very very different about me, and I say that in all seriousness.

I've posted many times on here that I was a huge Bills fan My entire life. Season tickets, memorize the rosters and stats when I was a little kid, wouldn't miss a game for anything.

Throughout the entire Bills drought I was as much of a fan as I could be as an adult. Then once they got Josh Allen and the drought was broken, I started fading in my fandom... and last year I hardly watched any of the games. Don't really know why.

I've watched almost every sabres game since I moved back to Western New York almost 20 years ago. I've posted religiously on this forum, still do. But since they turned the corner in December, I seem less interested in the team.

I'm still watching most of the games but I've missed a couple in the past few weeks. And I've posted slightly less since just before the Olympics.

Maybe I just need some stress out of my sports teams. Or maybe I appreciate the building of the roster more than I do the actual end result. Not sure.

Or maybe I just get more out of being a fan when there's lower expectations.

Anyway, I don't plan on going anywhere the rest of the season, just something I'm trying to figure out because I have had a slight less interest in the team since they started playing better in December.

Winning is more boring than losing, for lack of a better way to put it.

When teams are losing, there's much more to talk about. Trades, strategy plus the inevitable hope and in turn relief when they finally do start to win.

I think youre numb to the Bills because they have Allen yet they keep losing. And can't get to the superbowl. Its becoming numbing and tiring. Because Allen is by far good enough to win yet he doesnt.

With the Bills during the drought, we had Fitzpatrick. It would have been a miracle if that team got to the playoffs let alone a suoerbowl win. We all knew Fitzpatrick wasn't good enough but he was super likable so we didn't care. At least I didn't. Fitzpatrick was one of my favorite quarterbacks of all time. Still is. Because he's a good person who threw caution to the wind. Not saying Allen isn't at all, but he's expected to win. Fitzpatrick wasn't. Fitzpatrick had crazy comebacks and the huge beard and threw the ball into triple coverage couldn't give af about an interception. The drought was still fun af to me. Then huge relief when they made it. Tyrod Taylor stunk though

I wrote more than I intended but I think you can cross-apply the Bills logic to the Sabres right now. 10-0 sabres wins are nice, of course, but a 5-4 win in overtime will always be more exciting

And everyone was just writing you off as a troll! I agree with most of what you said and will add that the "pressure to win" and that feeling of the early 90's 4 superbowl disappointments has kept my Bills' enthusiasm a bit in check in recent years. I am damaged, I know, lol.

Since there were practically no realistic expectations of the Sabres doing more than squeaking into the last WC this year - their extra success thus far this year is just pure gravy and I am loving every second of it!!

I’m not even gonna sit here and pretend that it’s not Stanley Cup or bust for me.

But I’m also not rational in any facet of my life.

I am the music maker. I am the dreamer of dreams.
