LGR4GM Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Rasmus Dahlin is currently 6th in the NHL for defender points. He is absolutely the engine of his team and his defensive play is quite frankly excellent. 55.3cf%, +8.1xGF, 2.4pts/60 1 4 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted March 11 Author Report Posted March 11 Note in the 3 games since the video was created, Dahlin went from 53pts to 60pts. 2 1 Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Even the hockey writers who vote for this stuff haven't paid enough attention to Buffalo to comprehend what Dahlin is doing. How else do you explain Ruff not being the Jack Adams favorite? 2 1 Quote
dudacek Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 It's unfortunate Ras had the start he did (and we all know why), but he's been sublime since the calendar turned. I will never belittle Makar and Hughes, but he is legitimately in that tier. Hopefully a playoff run will help the hockey world see that. 3 1 1 Quote
MoondoggiesLV Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 It’ll likely be Makar again imo. Dahlin is a superstar though. Happy to have him and eager to watch him improve over the next few years. The best is yet to come with him imo. 1 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Dahlin was never going to get the love until his team made the playoffs. Makar has the most talented team in the league. Hughes has bene added to a contender-level roster and puts up points -- and he's fantastic because of his speed, but get him caught in his own zone and you can take advantage of him. They're known commodities and ho-hum. Boring! This season, it's Werenski. He has been a stud for a team that was borderline playoffs at best. And Dahlin is right there with him. Quote
oddoublee Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 The NHL may have a Dahlin problem....but not Buffalo..... 1 Quote

I saw an article where he wasn’t in the top 10, ridiculous! He’s easily in the top 5 and is the C of the hottest team in the NHL. They can’t ignore what he’s doing 👍 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted March 12 Report Posted March 12 He’s going to add 20 pts before the end of the season. He gets to 80+ he’ll easily be top 5 in the Norris voting. 2 Quote

Ruff is considered the Jack Adams favorite by certain betting sites. But betting sites don't vote. Hockey writers do and a recent poll of those voters has Ruff behind Cooper. That could change before the end of the season. 1 Quote

Actually, the Adams award is voted on by the NHL Broadcasters, not the writers. The recent poll was of the writers, but they don’t vote either. 1 Quote

By “he” I mean Ruff, and the people that voted were hockey writers, not the broadcasters who are the ones that vote. As others pointed out, that survey was while the Lightning were still in first place (Ruff was still -115ish around then also). Betting sites don’t vote you’re correct, but Vegas also doesn’t lose. -400 is a significant favorite, barring a collapse I wouldn’t be betting against Vegas here 1 Quote
Pimlach Posted March 12 Report Posted March 12 Scoring should not be the full requirement for Norris trophy. Maker, Warrenski, and Dahlin are the top guys overall. Raddysh having a career year but not better than these three. Bouchard, Hutson, and Q Hughes all have more points than Dahlin but I would not trade Dahlin for any of them. 1 Quote
Weave Posted March 12 Report Posted March 12 I keep reading this thread title as Dahlin and Josh Norris. Quote

nfreeman Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 Dahlin IMHO is going to need to shine during a long playoff run before he has a chance at the Norris the following year, but still: 1 Quote
