yall Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Morning all, I'm curious how some of you feel ticket prices for playoffs will be. I'm assuming demand will be quite high given that we haven't been there in 14 years. I'm planning on taking my daughter in fact I promised her I would, so I'll probably be moving heaven and earth to get two tickets. Knowing that we'll minimally have two games, I'm guessing prices would probably be comparable to the secondary market for a Bills playoff game ($200-$300 per seat), but some of you are probably more in tune with the market for the games and I'd be interested to hear your opinions. Mango Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Totally uneducated opinion, but I'd probably look at the last Tampa game as a guide for the first round. It's best of 7 not 1 and done so I expect them to be cheaper than the Ralph in January. $100-$150 should get you in the last row. But that's just a guess. Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 I wrote my rep, who by the way has not responded yet, which is odd, to ask about playoff invoices, which have not been sent yet. Like with the Bills, I have a credit card attached to my account to charge me instantly, but the Bills always send invoices first. Playoff tickets are a few dollars higher then regular season, increasing with each round. I will assume the same with the Sabres. I have friends and family lined up to use any games I don't attend. This is why I hung onto my seasons, hoping for this day. 2 1 Quote

I have no idea what resale will reach. Hundreds probably. But actual face value I doubt will be that high. Quote

Oh I was assuming season ticket holders were going to gobble up the available ones and everything for non-season ticket holders was going to be aftermarket/secondary. I could be wrong. Quote
Taro T Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 As @PromoTheRobot said, the Sabres haven't announced anything yet. Expecting they've already figured out how much they're going to gouge us but are waiting another week or 2 to announce it. In the past, STHers have had an opportunity to grab extra playoff tix before the general public gets to. Expecting that'll still be the case, but the last time the Sabres were in that situation was 15 years ago, so who knows how they're going to work it. Just am expecting the tix to get jacked up in the 1st round more than they typically increase due to the 15 year lag between 1st round series. Back in the day, the 1st round only went up a couple of bucks and later rounds went up more with the finals being nearly double the RS price IIRC (and it's been nearly 20 years since invoices for the finals went out and that was under different ownership). I could be wrong. That could well happen. But non-season ticket box office, if any are left, might be fairly high too. You know you could sign up for a pair of the cheapest season tickets available next year. That will give you some level of playoff priority now. Quote

Take my nosebleed seats for example. (You've been there.) Season ticket price per game is around $27. I'm guessing they will be $35-40 for the opening round and going up from there each round. 1 Quote

I would do that except for I already signed up for a pair of the most expensive Bills season tickets and a good portion of my funds are allocated towards that. And a good portion of my available entertainment funds are allocated towards that. 😉 1 Quote
JP51 Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 I have no idea what they will charge, however, if they make the playoffs I have got to think the demand for tickets is going to be insane. Quote
Taro T Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Remember, watching the games in the plaza will most likely be free (though the beers will be overpriced). After the 1st round, should the Sabres still be playing, there's a great likelihood the weather will be great too. Maybe even for the 1st round. 1 Quote
tom webster Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 The last time the team set out playoff invoices we got them last week in March and you had a week to decide. We also had to buy two full rounds (eight games). Like others have said, first round went up a few dollars. We were also given the opportunity to buy extra tickets but those were at box office prices. 1 1 Quote

Demand will be through the roof - probably second only to playoff tickets for the Bills' first home game after the drought, but that happened in the COVID year where you could only have like 6,700 people, so there isn't really a fair comp. Quite possibly highest since the 05-06 Sabres and maybe even back to first home playoff game of the Kelly-era Bills. Edited March 11 by matter2003 Quote
Taro T Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 5 minutes ago, OverPowerYou said: Do season ticket holders have to buy their playoff tickets or are they given them? You serious? If so, yes, STHers have to buy their playoff tix. In the past as @tom webster mentioned, they were purchased 2 rounds at a time. Now that all tix are digital, they might only make us buy 1 round at a time, but expecting it to be 2. There is likely to be a slight discount on STH tix over window price but doubting it will be overly significant. Also, STHers have historically been allowed to buy extra tix at window price, but no info on whether that'll happen again or not. It likely will. So there will be few to no tix available to general public on the primary market. Quote

I have been outside the arena for some playoff games but last time the made the playoffs I couldn't afford a regular season ticket, let alone playoffs. Quote

Like, once you are in, you are in and stay in? Otherwise, it's a short walk to some places to "refill". 🙂 1 Quote
