It has been the case pretty much since they started rolling Metsa/Kesselring as their 5 and 6. Smart coaching as far as I'm concerned. 2 Quote

That said, when Kesselring and Metsa are paired, it’s usually in the first couple periods and seldom in third periods as Lindy has had one of the top four skating with for a while now later in games. I loved watching him in the Olympics and he certainly proved to me that all the hype is warranted. He’s a transcendent player. And only 19? That is crazy. I think he’s supplanted Bedard as the next “great one.” Quote

TageMVP Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 Sharks 9-8 Michael Celebrini has 12 goals but 3 are called back due to the "two line pass" being reinstated for this game only. Celebrinis 9th and the game winning goal goes off Powers skate as he's laying on the ice after getting trucked by Samuellson. Mattias checks Power on purpose in an effort, though feeble, to toughen Power up. Power is later released from the team after this game as Ruff finally realizes Power stinks and he can't take Powers "softer than butter" approach to hockey anymore 1 1 Quote
Stads Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 Interior: Clan del Golfo Cartel (Bogota, Colombia) Hector took a deep breath and entered into Chiquito Malo's quarters. They assured him the wire taped to his chest would not be detected. Once he set foot in the room, he knew something was amiss. Chiquito stood slowly up from his luxuriant desk. After the snap of his fingers, Hector knew these were his last breaths. The cacophony of bullets rang out and shredded Hector's chest into a sea of crimson. As he fell to the ground, he knocked over a large pile of cocaine. His blood spelled out the following in the powder: 1 6 2 Quote

FWIW - From Natural Stat trick - Meta and Kesselring have only 10 minutes together while Metsa has 305 minutes with "others". If you go to the last 7 games (post Olypics) it's 8.25 with MK and 56 minutes with "others". It's like 5 full shifts together in 7 games. Not a lot. It's highly protected, with MK is not seen as a protector. 1 Quote

That was a million years ago! Visited USS New Jersey last year and man was that thing gigantic. We spent a an hour or so walking around it and hardly saw much of it. Tom Hanks made a movie as a captain of a Fletch Class destroyer. It's called Greyhound and it was pretty good movie 1 Quote

I hope Lindy get comfortable enough with the new guys to pair with Kesselring (I think Metsa will be sent back to the Amerks) so that our top 4 can get a few less minutes per game heading into the post season. Taro T Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 1 hour ago, Doohickie said: The Sharks are a point out of the last WC spot. They need this game. This is a classic trap game. If the Sabres come out like they did in the first half of the TBL game though, it will be over by the start of the third. I don't expect a drop off in urgency just because they nosed ahead of the Lightning. They've been fighting for their lives since December and there's still more work to do. Must Win. Snarks are the only team in the league that's played less than 61 games. They may WANT this game, but they don't NEED it. And, regardless of how good or bad either team is, Buffalo almost always has the Snarks number. Rare exception was Thornton's 1st game as an official Snark. That was an absolute disaster, but that team that day might've beaten the '77 Habs in Moe-ray-all; they were that stoked to have gotten him. Quote

LTS Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 Love to see this team come out and continue the energy from Sunday's game. Naturally it won't be the same physical level but if they can come out with feet moving, high pressure, up tempo game they have been playing that would be nice. It would be easy to have an energy let down after playing back to backs and having the second game be the level it was. If they show up and skate hard... it says something about their mentality and approach. And yeah.. I started the year with thinking I'd turn the game on if I had nothing else going on. I quickly got to, I'll find something else to do and now I clear the calendar in order to watch the game. What a season. 5 Quote
Kicksave Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 After the other night I am 100% confident that this team is playoff bound and I am ready for that playoff intensity (which Sunday felt like). Some of these games down the stretch will seem a little anticlimactic to me. I realize we need to stay on course and the team does not think like this (or I hope they don't) but some of this next month might feel like a little bit of a swoon as my eyes are fixated on the post season. I know, still gotta win our games but I am READY for game one, whoever that ends up being against. 1 Quote
