JoeSchmoe Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 We can hope Lindy keeps our top 4 as-is after the seemingly foolish Jarmo trade. Where does that leave us for our bottom 6? I take it Kesselring is #5, especially with him being a RHD. Could Stanley slide into the #6 spot? Then how do you rate Metsa, Timmins, and Schenn? Quote

Kesselring seems like the worst of that group. He could see time in the regular season to try to turn it around, but I see him in the press box come playoffs. Rotate Schenn and Timmins on the bottom pair. Quote

It's good to have depth as well as competition in that end of the D. Gives Lindy options if an opponent chooses violence or someone gets injured. Stanley is having his best year as a pro scoring wise so probably he gets the first chance. Plus he's the anti-Power, plenty tough. Schenn seems like health insurance- can play up in an emergency. I like Metsa but Jarmo knows the playoffs get chippy and he's not the biggest guy. Timmins is hurt so not sure where he fits. Quote
DarthEbriate Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Once the playoffs begin, there won't be a bottom pairing. One of the top 4 will always be on the ice. In the short-term it will be matchup-driven. Metsa is still going to play because unlike the newcomers he can skate. Schenn will give folks rest days. And Stanley will get a tryout to be the #6 on the left side and get every game where a team is still likely to be feisty. 1 Quote
