What would be a fair trade for Parayko? He's not a rental.

When he has a lot of mileage/games/minutes on him and he's signed until he is 37, I might prefer a rental.

Andy Strickland, who has a lot of connections with the Blues mentioned it’s a little premature to announce the deal.

Maybe there is a Sabres roster player going back the other way (for $$/cap purposes) and they have to wait to inform all parties before the announce it publicly.

Like others, I don’t like the price. But we haven’t traded Helenius which was a fear. Still, Mrtka has a ton of potential

The value of this trade will come down to one thing: How deep we go in the playoffs. If we make it to the finals and are in the hunt the next 2-3 years, or win the Cup, nothing else will matter. If we are jettisoned in round 1 the trade will put a lot of pressure on the GM next year and he will have to hope we go deep the next 2-3 seasons.

5x6.25mil if no retention 4 after this year

if we get some retention I could see this as something akin to Teppo. The grizzled, well respected defenseman.

Also by how they described Parayko, does he not sound a bit like an older Power with a tad more physicality

Remember Parayko rag-dolling JT Miller at the 4 Nations last year? This would be a great move.

lol how will Mrtka feel if this falls through. Looked miserable to be drafted by us and then we try and trade him and fail. Welcome back buddy, we're really excited for what you can bring to our organisation

If he were to reject the deal that would be a huge blow to Buffalo vibes and great fodder for the palm trees crowd.

Doubt he would be miserable now seeing an ascending team just getting started.

Business is business. There are deals in place for players all the time that fall through for whatever reason. If he is that mentally weak that he can't handle that, then we probably need to trade him anyway somewhe else.

He rejected because they told him he had to be paired with Power

What are you doing, man? Do you want to get booed every time you touch the puck?    (Even Blues fans will boo him for ruining their tank job, plus Mrtka)

Not really. Myers refused to waive for Detroit and got his way by getting traded to Detroit. If parayko wants to golf soon then he can stay in STL

Strickland also mentioned he would be surprised if he waived for Buffalo

Didn’t he get the memo the Sabres are finally good again?!?!  Bergevin, JK and Ruff need to get on the phone and remind him this ain’t your Sabres of the past decade….

If he has a family and kids I’d expect this to take a minute or so for him to decide.

It’s not like 2 weeks ago he had move to Buffalo for next 4 years on his radar.

Get him Josh Allen on the phone asap.
