Dr. Who Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Can't you just jump ahead in the timeline and tell us the cost? 3 2 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Interesting... Just now, Dr. Who said: Can't you just jump ahead in the timeline and tell us the cost? Always in motion the future is... until about 5:30 PM EST when all the paperwork has gone through the league office. 1 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Given his contract and declining play, Stl better be giving us something good to take him. 1 2 Quote

Derrico Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 @dudacek likes the idea which gives me some hope. Don’t know how the money will work though. Sucks that likely means Thomas dream really is dead. Quote
thewookie1 Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 My guess is he'll trade Kesselring or Byram in the offseason Quote

Not sure if he's fully in decline (yet!) vs. being on a really awful team this season which impacts everything for the D-men who don't get PP time. But, the contract probably won't age beautifully. Then again, bolstering the blue line for a Cup run doesn't need a contract to age beautifully. Perhaps some retention is in play. 1 Quote
shrader Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Well that’s definitely a contrast to Bryson/Metsa. Quote
mjd1001 Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 I'm ok with it if he's a 3rd pair guy and not much expected. Also, it better be for only futures (at most multiple picks that are 2nd round or worse), or non-top tier prospects (no Helenius, Östlund, hopefull not even Rosen) As others have said, hes a soon-to-be 33 year old D-man with a lot of mileage on him, with declining stats/analytics and big dollars (a contract that could be looking VERY bad in short order, he's signed through age 37). The more I think about it, not much at all should be going back. The Sabres, or any other team, would be doing a favor to the Blues to take that player and contract off their hands. 2 1 Quote

If they are giving up a first AND Mrtka, I'm really not liking JK move here at all. This better fall through or it better be part of a bigger deal, or else this is on the verge of making some of us actaully angry. The team is doing well, why do something like this if that is what you are giving up? Edited March 4 by mjd1001 2 3 Quote

Brawndo Posted March 4 Author Report Posted March 4 There still better be some retention here 1 Quote

There better be LESS going there than is rumored, or more coming back (and I don't mean junk coming back, I mean good stuff.) If St. Louis is rebuilding, a favor is being done by taking that contract off of them. Quote

DarthEbriate Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 If acquired, he does do what I want overall: push Timmins to #7. Get the PK stronger again. He's the proven right-side version of Muel. Mrtka is a future... something. 3 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Next question if you are paying that much for Parayko, does that mean you have another deal in place for Power or Byram. You aren’t paying that for Parayko and not playing him in your top 4 and maybe next to Dahlin. 1 Quote
EM88 Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 If that is the rumored deal, that is awful. I know you have to give a little to get a little. But this just seems bad. Really bad. It is not that he is a bad player who cannot help the team. But this looks bad for the future and you are giving up too much for the return. 1 Quote

You've got 5 guys who can take nearly every minute of ice-time for this playoff, plus Kesselring. 1 Quote
