He certainly should get a handful of games in Rochester to get his skating legs back.

It would be nice to have him subbing in for a few NHL games down the stretch to see if he's a better fit than a few of the current starters, but I'm not sure he will be given the layoff and my suspicions about how its affected his fitness.

I think they would give him a week or two of practice, then have him do a  full 14 day rehab stent in Rochester then bring him back up.

After Friday roster sizes, do not matter teams only need to be cap compliant I would rotate him with Quinn and Zucker on the third line, keeping McLeod as the full-time center

He has been skating and working out, but no physical contact due to the anticoagulation he was receiving

Fingers crossed he gets the greenlight.

In a sliding doors moment, I wonder how this season would have played out had he not had this condition.

It will be interesting to see where he fits in once he's back. My immediate thought is to replace him with Quinn on the roster. I'd also love to see him opposite of Tage on the PP1. If the other team is taking the Tage lane away, let Dahlin feed one-timers to Kulich.

I would prefer keeping that McCleod line intact. I suspect LIddy would also lean towards keeping that line together.

I'm really happy that Kulich appears to be getting back to full health.

As I've stated in prior posts, I don't see the need for adding any outside talent to this roster that is getting a number of players back from injuries and health issues.

Who sits if he returns? Does he go down to rehab for a few weeks to get back into shape?

I would say 2 things could or should happen, and it may involve moving some guys who play both center and wing.

1.)  Krebs goes back down to the 4th line, a current 4th liner comes out, and Kulich goes into the top 6, maybe replacing Krebs spot on Thompson's line.

2.)  If Quinn falters or goes into a deep scoring drought, I would personally take Quinn out and put Kulich in.

Cleared to play as in cleared to start excercising again, I figure he lost some muscles sitting still so long.

My best guess he is at least 6 weeks away still to be in shape and tbh I don't think we do him any service putting him in the line up.
The team is playing at a pace he won't be able to follow.

First off this is great news as far as his health goes, he may be able to continue being a professional athlete.

Second, this guy is still in the prospect category so there is some growth left in his game.

Third, he was a contributor to the top 9 so this provides Lindy with another weapon.

My take is he makes Quinn expendable at some point in time. His shot is deadly, he looks physically stronger and he can play C or W which adds to his value. He is cheaper than Quinn and I think his upside is higher because of his versatility. He also doesn’t fall as much.

I don’t think he was placed on bedrest. Hopefully, he’s stayed conditioned off the ice.

He'd be a great help to Rochester's top six while he rehabs (and he's waiver exempt, so he could just find himself there throughout the rest of the season). And if he proves he's an absolute stud again, then he's back in the call-up mix ahead of Helenius.

The other options would be LTIR if test results are negative, or also as added trade bait (a buy very low, high potential upside option would be appealing to rebuilders).

Good luck jiri...can't be enjoying the bubble wrap lifestyle blood thinners require.

I was on them a year for a blood clot running from my knee to abdomen and 3 Pulmonary Embolisms and lived no such lifestyle you are suggesting.

Do blood thinners restrict your exercise/endurance activity? I know contact sports are a no-no, but can/has Jiri been lifting heavy weights and biking/running hard this whole time?

Yeah, also puts any and all of Kulich/Rosen/Östlund/Quinn in the trade mix as well.

Might be a hot take…but in my mix, Kulich is ahead of Helenius and Östlund.
Noah has done an admirable job as a rookie in the top 9. Kulich held up on the top line as a rookie last year.  Jiri was on a 20 goal pace in his 62 games played and just a -4, which is pretty good for a rookie getting top line responsibility.

If he’s healthy and ramped up, I’m riding with Kulich first.

While I was taking them they do not restrict your exercise/endurance activity so weights, bikes, running, and Pilates type workouts are all in.

They strongly suggest and want you to avoid or have any blunt force traumas or deep cuts/wounds.

So your chainsaw juggling career had to go on hold. That’s unfortunate.

He's already been skating for a few weeks is my understanding, it's just been non-contact

I still expect he could use a conditioning stint in Rochester, but if he's cleared tomorrow I think 6 weeks is pretty conservative (unless they just don't want to upset the apple cart.)
