He's a perfect addition as he's not going to destroy team chemistry at the NHL level and would only require a draft pick and maybe a lesser minor league prospect. Come on Sabres. Quote

The Sabres did always ask way too much of him, but they had no choice back then. I would not be upset if he took Bryson, who has not been terrible when he has played, out of a few more games. Veteran D is veteran D. Same for Myers, I'd say, if he came back. 1 1 Quote

Both very affordable cap wise, both are UFA’s and both fill the reported rumor roles the Sabres are reportedly looking for, bottom 6 forward and depth D. Just a guess though. Your guess is as good as any. 1 Quote

He’s averaging over 20 minutes per game currently and he would get fewer minutes as a bottom pair guy here. And he is capable of sliding up a pair or two in a pinch to get our top four guys a little extra rest in games. Plus, I can’t discount the Jarmo connection, either. 1 Quote

There’s the Chad D Calgary report, our asst GM’s at the Laughs - Gritty game……the Sabres organization is scouring the league looking for those key depth players? It’s a bit odd all the info out there. My question is……where is Jarmo? 🤔 Quote

So it’s a loan for a few months. It is possible he didn’t want to go here. But which team do you think has a better chance right now? The Sabres, 3rd in the east or the Oilers 7th in the west? But for sure a 2027 2nd is better than a 2028 2nd. We early could beat the offer the Oilers made. Including throwing in a prospect if necessary. Quote

All while no one knows he’s there…… Quote

My wife shouted let’s go Sabres outside in the parking garage and a group of 6 Leafs idiots took exception. They did a no no, and I dam near went to jail. I fu cking hate all things Leafs for that. Can he still be depended upon to do something stupid at the worst possible moment? That's the Risto that I unfortunately remember. Love his hustle and aggression, but still remember his $0.10 head making a bigger impact on the whole. He used to be the poster child for a bad penalty or an open man in the slot while he chases the puck. Is he still that guy or has he learned over the years in Philly? 2 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 4 hours ago, LGR4GM said: Ole throw the puck up the wall Risto I don't think you realize Torts changed Risto. He's actually very solid now. He is the player he should have always been. We wanted him to be everything and we asked way too much and he got turned into a mess. Torts simplified him back to being a solid heavy stay at home guy. If healthy, he is the perfect bottom pairing guy for us. The issue however, is "if healthy" as he has been injury prone over these years. Another injury prone guy on the roster would seem risky to foolish. Quote
SabreFinn Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 I don’t think we should make a habit out of trading for injury prone players at deadline. 2 Quote

Kesserling has been a massive disappointment to me. Metzsa might be better in a limited minutes role. I think we are looking for another D and a bottom six forward. His stats certainly don’t back this up. Timmons is -11, the worst on the team, in only 33 games. 1 Quote
