a guy they wanted more than that 1st one became available

I wouldn't say they want Hendrickson more than Crosby, I'd say they want Hendrickson + 2 first round picks more than Crosby.

Not to defend the Ravens or anyone else, but voiding a trade after the player gets a physical is quite common. Indeed, when news of players coming off injury get traded, there’s usually a “pending a physical” caveat in the report, especially if the player is still in rehab following a surgical procedure to fix that injury. I was actually surprised that when news of the Crosby trade first broke, the reports didn’t mention that.

That said, the timing of it is fishy af as the Ravens had plenty of time to conduct the medical evaluations before agreeing to the price of the trade with the Raiders.

I just saw that the NFL is contemplating a Thanksgiving Eve game, possibly this coming season. I wonder how long it will be before we see, either by plan or circumstance, a week where there is a game every day of that week. Will there be no end to the saturation? (Read: $$$$)

The Bills signed Bradley Chubb, 3 years, $43.5 million

I barely remember hearing his name when he played against the Bills

as always, we need to know what the guaranteed money is.

i like the signing fine. it's on the higher end of bargain bin FA shopping.

Plus, the salary quoted includes ‘up to ….’  What the conditions are we will likely never know until after the fact.

He strip-sacked Allen in the game in Miami last year.  The Bills recovered the ball and Chubb got a personal foul for taunting.

So if I buy his jersey I get to say I'm sporting a Chubb, right?

Worth it

Thing is... we will all probably watch it.

29 Mil guarantee.

That's like a 1 year salary for Hendrickson or Crosby.

Watching his 2025 highlight tape on YouTube. Moves very well, coming off injury. Shows him running by Dawkins a few times.

The highest contract ever for an offensive lineman…and it’s for a center. SMH.

Of course it's for the center,… the most important position on the line.

It is and always has been the LT.  Now the Raiders have screwed-up the center market.  Thankfully they re-signed McGovern before that monstrosity of a contract was revealed.

Not even remotely true.

Oy, I think that overstates things, at a minimum.

Is it not a fact that LT's** are the highest paid cohort of offensive linemen?

I'm asking.

** Proverbial protectors of the QB's blindside. (Unless you have a lefty QB.)

Protecting the largest asset, yes.

Not the most important position on the line.

I think in a balanced offense like Buffalo's, you can make an argument for center. For pass heavy teams, it's gotta be the blindside tackle (LT with a right-handed QB).

I think I get where you're coming from -- you think the centre is the most important position on the O-Line from a football standpoint.

Money talks, though, innit? Left tackles are the league's highest paid offensive linemen.

So, in that way, it is at least "remotely true" that left tackles are the most important players on the O-Line because they are the most  monetarily valued players on the O-Line. (I realize there may be some exceptions to that rule.)
