Ghost of Ville Leino Posted August 7 Report Posted August 7 Stiff price to pay for an average pass blocker. If he takes a step in pass pro, it should be a good deal. If not, it's another blah Beane deal. A good, not great player that Beane would rather sign than have to work to replace in the offseason. It also sucks to see Howie Rosememan continue to utilize void years to maximize Philly's current window while Beane does more of the same. Quote

Half the league does. 1 Quote

Only two I can think of off the top of my head are Milano and Floyd, which aren't even remotely comparable to the enormous frontloading that Roseman does with his big contracts. Oops, backloading, I mean. Quote

Right, I'm saying I wish Beane was one of the best GMs in the league, rather than just being mediocre. Quote

The Bills have been one of the best teams in the league for eight years and are considered a Super Bowl favorite. Hardly mediocre. 2 Quote

He's good for 1 almost kevy level media meltdown per year that betrays how little he thinks of other gms and fans. He let McDermott putter around for another 4 or 5 years after 13 seconds and they never truly changed their MO. Signing Torrence is defendable but when you put it in the context of the larger body of work, signing a good run blocking guard to pretty big money just seems directionless. Plugging holes mentality rather than focusing on bringing in difference makers. 2 Quote

I do think it's 🚨🚨TRIGGER WARNING 🚨🚨silly to argue that Beane is a mediocre GM. At an absolute minimum, he's been a good GM for Buffalo. And I'd say "very good." For example: What if Von Miller's knee holds up? Aye caramba. I think Beane had done enough that year. Edited August 7 by That Aud Smell 1 Quote

The Bills have been a historically elite offense for multiple years. They have a top RB and OL. Second, If the Bills were in the NFC they would have been in two or three Super Bowls. Beane’s not the best GM but he’s top five. He’s biggest mistake was being in the same conference as KC and he’s terrible coaching and two dropped passes away from beating them three of those times. 2 Quote
Ghost of Ville Leino Posted August 7 Report Posted August 7 What if what if what if. That's his whole tenure. 1 Quote

If only KC didn't exist! Puh-lease, talk about silly. KC walked over us every year to win those superbowls and look at them now. Turns out Reid and Mahomes aren't an unstoppable machine and actually had great skill players and a great defense to push them over the top. And how do you know the Bills would have made the superbowl in the NFC? Because McDermott definitely wouldn't have messed that up with a hamlin fake punt run or a 13 seconds? 1 Quote

Ghost of Ville Leino Posted August 7 Report Posted August 7 All of this Beane bashing aside, if he trades for vita vea then I agree he is good maybe even very good/top 5. Until then, he is mediocre. *bangs gavel* Quote

He’s had injury issue the last few years, which is the sole reason they haven’t been a threat lately. Quote

He’s had injury issue the last few years, which is the sole reason they haven’t been a threat lately. He was 5-5 before getting hurt 3 seasons ago. He played the entire 2024 season and missed the playoffs with an 8-9 record. He was 5-3 last season and perhaps might have made the playoffs if he were healthy all year, but the team also lost *three* games in which they scored 34+ points. Quote
JujuFish Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 And it's actually fairer to say he was 4-3 last season, since I was counting Jacksonville, a game he was losing when he got hurt. Browning came in and won that game. Burrow's 4 wins were the Browns, Ravens, Dolphins, and Cardinals. 3 bad teams and one mediocre team. Quote
