Anyone watching?

USA and Canada's women's hockey teams off to a great start. The swedish and german women also open the preliminaries with convincing wins.

From what I saw yesterday USA looked incredible. the Finns weren't at the races.

The drone camera's following skiers down the slope is spectacular.

Luge, too.  I wonder which takes more skill--operating the luge or operating the drone.

Spoiler alert:

Lindsay Vonn fell and had to be helicoptered away…only about 15 seconds into her Women’s downhill run….very sad!  Still worth watching the event though….for another reason….

It's not a spoiler once it's been all over the news!  Yes, a sad end to that career.  And yes, still worth watching.

Absolutely devastated for Lindsay Vonn. I was really pulling for her.

I’m assuming it’s programmed to follow a specific path.

Same here, was pulling for her big time, although it was great seeing Breezy get the gold. Watching mens speed skating now.

Incredibly courageous.  BUT somebody close to her should've had 1/2 the guts she has and tell her flat out this was almost defintiely going to be the outcome of skiing world best competitively without an ACL in one knee.  Don't just tell her it's a risk, but it's a foolhardy risk, because of the physics of doing what she tried to do.

Did anyone else see how the Austrian gold medalist celebrated after he won the mens parralel giant slolom? It will be interesting to see what the Austrian women will do to top his celebration if one of them wins gold after that.

We watched the opening show, we love Italy and the culture there - the food is so fresh and healthy and delicious.

Sad to see that happened to Lindsay Vonn.   Looking forward to watching more events.

The ice hockey should be awesome.

I might watch a handful of events at the summer Olympics but watch as much winter Olympic events as possible.

I can relate to most of the winter sports, having tried a lot of them. Living in winter for 5-6 months a year probably contributes to this as well as being indoors more at this time of year provides more time to watch.

Any updates on Vonn? did not look good at all. On the stream it sounded like she was screaming when they tried to get skis off. Thoughts and prayers to her.

From what I've seen, her knee didn't cause the crash, her right pole hit a gate causing the off balance and subsequent fall . My guess is that torn knee is now more torn, and the screaming was partially because she knew this was her last run at the Olympics (as well as pain) the air lifting is SOP for an alpine course

I thought I read that she fractured her leg.

I guess so, surgery to repair L leg... Doesn't say what bone or severity. Sucks to go out that way.

She went out doing what she loves. Getting injured in the Olympics. 😎

Tiger had better stay away or at least wear a serious mouth guard.

What happens if an athlete falls on the curling stones while in that target zone and scatters them?

Cuz I could see myself doing that
