Drag0nDan Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 Norris was able to get an extended break here. Same with Greenway. UPL and Benson were probably close but now they get some time to rest up. This is the last break here, rest of the season is a grind. Kesselring also gets some time away from games which i think can help with someone who's been struggling. We've been skating a ton of rookies this year, so the break for young players to get right is good. Almost like a 2nd season - ride the hot goalie here as much as you can. Whenever the team's struggled its been when they try to work in all 3. Currently it's gotta be Lyon til it isn't. March 6 trade deadline is going to come up really fast as well, so who are pieces you keep and move - what happens with tuch... it's a lot to think about. Quote
dudacek Posted February 17 Report Posted February 17 (edited) Seven of the 8 Eastern Conference teams in the playoffs on Feb. 17 last year ended up making it. The lone exception was the Detroit Red Wings, who were in WC2 with 61 points in 55 games — 1 point up on Columbus and Boston, 3 up on the Rangers. The team that caught them though was Montreal, who went 15/5/6 down the stretch and came from 6 points back to finish 8th, two points ahead of Columbus. The Wings went 11/13/3, with most fingers pointing at their goaltending. Alex Lyon fell out of the rotation, going 4/3 with an .874 SV% after starting the year at .904. The Sabres are a .614 team. Every team over .600 at this time last year finished with at least 98 points and made the playoffs. 2 Quote
