I thought the team was starting to get tired and losing some edge with a bit of puck luck. Given their history of sitting back and thinking games would just sort of come to them they really needed an edge tonight not a celebration. As another poster said—pretty accurately—the game was essentially sabotaged by Bryson. They just couldn’t overcome his four minutes of ice time. Who knows how this game plays out if he doesn’t dress. That said, they hurt themselves too: too many shots missed the net, the wide-open chance by Tage in the slot was a huge missed opportunity, and their goalie outplayed ours. Scottysabres Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Well, these past 4 games should bring everyone back down to earth as to where the Sabres are. They have improved but they are by no means cup contenders. And following the Olympic break the grueling part of their schedule really kicks in to high gear as there are many conference and division opponents in March. But yea, not impressed for the tail end before the break. I do wonder if Jarmo moves Tuch if the losing continues coming out of the break before the deadline. Something to ponder while we wait I suppose. Quote

Now maybe next year he pulls a Samuelsson but right now, he's not even as good as Bryson or Metsa (or Timmons, remember him?) Krebs more and more looks like he wants to become the new Matthew Barnaby. He's an idiot, but he's our idiot. Now I advise everyone to switch over to the Florida game. 4-0 and a brawl. Carmel Corn Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Not trying to beat a dead horse, but this game should make it ridiculously obvious to Jarmo that he needs to find more defensemen. Our top 4 can’t keep up this pace, especially in a playoff series…and one of them can easily get hurt along the way. Kesselring is not meeting expectations and Timmons is really a 7th defender. Under no circumstances can Bryson or even Metsa can be on our 3rd pairing….they don’t play enough quality minutes to help. Lindy needs to demand that Kesselring play more of a stay-at-home style and less free-lancing…he’s not good enough to be joining the rush. We need a monster who can control and protect the crease and slot areas Quote
