thewookie1 Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 If you have to lose, do it in OT We have 70pts in 56 games. We need exactly 26 pts to reach the coveted 96pts in 26 games 2 1 Quote

We needed an A game from the goalie tonight and Ellis delivered. Krebs left him out there, but Dahlin down low left Krebs at the point. Tough to do in 3 on 3. Not particularly upset with the calls, or lack there of. I thought they let both teams play with minimal whistels. 6 Quote
quill Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 Except for a disastrous screw-up in the lighning end of the rink that lead to the breakaway goal, it was a great effort by the team with great goal tending by Ellis. Without Ellis I don't think we would have been in it. If the obvious trip had been called in OT, things might have been different, but we did good just the same. 3 Quote
elijah Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 Can anyone explain the story behind why everyone (Twitter) was calling Samuelsson Mike, Big Mike and Michael? I must have missed what’s happening there Quote

HumanSlinky39 Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 Only need 30 points in the last 26 games to get to 100. 1 Quote

TB knows how to play playoff hockey, which tonight’s game felt like. Sabres still have some learning and growing to do. Playoffs will be much faster and grittier than February games. 2 Quote

Tonight was simply not one of Dahlin's finest moments....IMHO he struggled all game...maybe pressing too hard...sometimes it's okay to sit back and play some DEFENSE 1 Quote

I must have missed what’s happening there Ferraro called him that at least 3 times in the 1st period and then after an intern told him what Muel's real 1st name is; he apologized profusely. So, even in a loss, a legend is born. 1 1 Quote

Flashsabre Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 That was a very good hockey game. Tampa are 18-1-1 in there last 20 and Sabres were with them tonight on a back to back with their 3rd string goalie in net (who was great) I’ll take the 3 of 4 points. They have shown that they can play against heavy playoff style teams. Find a way to to beat the Pens and head to the break on a high. Kucherov is such a dangerous player and Vasilesky is All World in net Sabres aren’t going away. This is who they are now. 1 2 Quote

"If you are watching this game at home in Lockport, NY right now you are likeing what you are seeing." I had to do a double take. What a weird drop Lockport name drop on an ESPN feed. Why not just say Buffalo? Lol Quote

OverPowerYou Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 We have a great team. This is the year to trade a draft pick and a prospect for a star player and make a run. Sometimes I have to pinch myself 1 1 Quote

Cheektorado Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 OK. Need a good game at home Thursday and go into the long break with a win. Regroup and heal up. That's all that's needed now. 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 I thought they were going to win it after Helenius did his best dive (reminding me of you know who and if you don't you're just too young :)) and they scored on the PP but Tampa do Tampa things and the OT was terrible. Ellis saves them early but looked a little in over his head at the end. I hate Tampa but it's pretty amazing they are doing as well as they are with their depleted line up. Even considering the periodic NHL help. They're playing pretty good though and no matter what else happens here they will enter the Olympic break in very good shape and in control of their own destiny and that's all you can ask for. It does feel different this year. 1 Quote

Not like better hockey markets who have diehard fans that will follow regardless of the team's performance. Give Tampa or the Panthers 3 years out of the playoffs and nobody is paying them any mind. Just the way most FL pro franchises are from what I've seen. Quote
K012010 Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 If this team keeps doing what they’re doing, and the Olympic break doesn’t somehow throw us off which of course the year that we’re finally ***** good again there’s the Olympics but with Norris coming back and also Benson hopefully soon and maybe Jarmo brings in some more juice to the lineup I don’t see why we can’t finish second to the lightning. I’m not gonna sit here and say that we can pass them. I think they have a more complete team with much more experience so I’m not gonna get too crazy But I think we can finish second in the east 1 minute ago, OverPowerYou said: We have a great team.
