Another master stroke of Kevyn's 5-D chess mind. Ullmark was allowed to get to free agency and sign with the Bruins, knowing that eventually he would end up in Ottawa so that it set up Tkachuk wanting a trade. It's a shame he's not here to consummate the deal. 6 1 Quote

Mr. MVP Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 Why are we acting like it’s some touchy unspeakable offensive thing? It’s all just about guys getting caught cheating, right? Or is there more to it that I’m missing? 1 Quote

Remember Corey Perry and Bedard’s mom? Completely made up story that hurts real human beings and their families. 1 Quote

Pimlach Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 I heard about Ullmark leaving the team for personal reasons. To me that really means personal and maybe family related. Therefore I didn't think it could be more than that, and not my business. This cryptic thread lead me to look deeper. Whatever these rumors are, and even if they are true, I must say again that Social media is changing our society and the world, and it is not for the better. I put it in the category with alcohol, drugs, and gambling. Nothing good is coming from it. 2 Quote

It’s funny because the Blackhawks put out a statement calling Bedard’s mom BS and it died down pretty quickly after without any comment from any player named in the rumors. This time, the Sens put out an its BS statement and it was the wrong thing to do? Like the Streisand Effect worked differently than before? To me, the biggest difference is how the media reacted to the story. Including reporters asking players about the situation. I’m sure it’s out there somewhere. What I saw were quotes from Bedard and the GM quickly shooting it down. Bedard specifically said “BS”. Since he’s directly a part of the fake story, his words carry more weight. Perry also issued an apology. All Ottawa has is a horribly worded statement from someone not directly involved in the suggested story (Staios). Maybe someone else says something eventually, it it’s all a bad look right now, very unprofessional. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 What is it about Ottawa though? Remember the last time they fell apart was another soap opera scandal with wives. Karlsson and Hoffman at the center of it. These wives, players, rumors scandals never end well. So if we are to believe things, Linus cheated on his wife, after being caught he told his wife about other players cheating on the road (as an excuse?) and she told the other players wives. As a result several players not happy with Linus and want him gone. That's the gist of it, or it's internet bs and something else entirely. Quote

The way I understand the story is, Linus routinely told his wife about other players cheating, but after Linus got caught, his wife began telling the other wifes about the cheating. I can’t believe I’m even responding in this thread. 🤦♂️ 1 3 Quote

It's not just the getting caught cheating, the possibly more damning thing (from a hockey perspective) is him outing his teammates when he got caught, which if true is going to make it very hard for him to earn the trust of any NHL team. 1 hour ago, Weave said: Thats not how I understood it. As for responding, meh, it's the internet, none of it means anything anyway. Quote
Andrew Amerk Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 Maybe if zero players cheated on their wives, then there would be no issue. 🤷♂️ 1 Quote
