I agree with the number.  The names are pretty interesting.

I don’t expect anyone to pull the Michigan guy unless they went there… but maybe this hint helps out

The other 4 are harder as none played more than 65 games for us.

I just looked it up and of the two I’m missing, I can’t believe I missed the one, the other, I’ll give myself a pass.

The organist?

Maybe Sabretooth?  Can't tell if he wears a mouthpiece or not.

Yes the organist Curtis Cook! i didn't think you'd get it yet. Good job!! He has played for the Sabres for quite a while. Sorry I didn't see your answer as soon as you said it.

I think the Michigan player is the easier one.

The goalie’s kid is trying to break into the NHL right now. That could have the bar more fresh north mind.

I see that, but the other one was kind of the poster boy for settling for less during the beginning of the drought era plus didn’t he cause a stir by his choice of jersey number or am I remembering it wrong?

I know the more recent one played here but I don’t remember a second of it. The goalie caught attention originally since he was the first to win it… that and being part of a pretty big trade.

Thanks, guys, for all your efforts with figuring out who it was. I honestly didn't think anyone would get it until I mentioned at least one more hint which was going to be that he doesn't wear shin pads, which probably would have made you realize it was some kind of a player, but not a a hockey player. If that didn't do it, the next hint was going to be that he only plays during home games.

@Taro T how the heck did you figure it out with only the couple of hints I gave you at the time? Either you've been secretly attending a night school for genius level problem solvers while the rest of us are trying to remember our own phone numbers, or maybe you've been imbibing in some sort of brain enhancing gummy bears that just hit the market? Seriously! 😀

just trying to apply logic to the question and not make assumptions beyond what was presented.   Tend to do pretty good at trivia using that approach too.  😉

Who was the captain of the Sabres team that reached the Stanley Cup Final in 1975?

Too easy.

With two goals and three assists, Derek Roy tied a team playoff record with five points in a 7-6 overtime win over the Senators on this day, 2006.

I was in South Beach frantically trying to to find the game. Unfortunately, every bar had LeBron and the Heat on. Back then it wasn’t as easy to follow along on your phone either.

Who scored 18 seconds overtime to give the Sabres a 7-6 win over the Senators on May 5, 2006?

The answer is Chris Drury. What a game that was.

May 7: FACT

From April 19, 1992, to May 6, 1993, Pat LaFontaine set a Sabres team playoff record with a 14-game point streak.

But it was a bit of a rig.  The Zamboni driver definitely should've gotten the 2nd assist on that goal.  Can't believe they were so petty to not give him credit for it.   😉

Who holds the Sabres team record for career short-handed goals with 27?

The guy who has exactly 1 more than his linemate did in his career.  😉
