Looks like everyone’s favorite Bruin is coming over to Scotland to play for the Fife Flyers. His signing (or potential signing) has caused the the chief operations operator to resign his post due to not wanting to be associated with the decision to sign a scumbag like Lucic.

Same league, yes. Lucic must be seriously short of cash. EIHL players don’t make retirement money. Less than a school teacher even for the highest paid.

Or maybe he has no family life he wants to pursue and he just wants to play hockey at the highest level he can dominate.

There is no way we can accurately predict his motivations.

If he needed cash, he'd be better off running a hockey school or something. Parents will pay hand over fist for a trainer that played high level hockey.

I despise Lucic, but maybe he wants to keep playing the game he loves? If he's not tied down with a family why wouldn't you go play internationally somewhere? If I were him I'd be picking a new country for each season and get to explore the world a bit.

Wasn’t Gareth the guy who lost his job with Glasgow for trying to sign an alleged rapist? Maybe he learned his lesson and has grown?

As I understand it he stopped drinking, went to therapy and cleaned himself up. He's still married. They apparently worked it out so he does still have some sort of family life.

Good for him if true…. UK sports fans won’t let him forget though. He will get hounded relentlessly.

It's on reddit but it's all rumor. There's no actual confirmation that this is actually true.
