GASabresIUFAN Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago The Sabres are 9-5-2 at home, but only 2-6-2 on road. Philly is the next game. They are 14-8-3 (8-4-2 @ home) Wpg is next. 13-12 overall (6-5 @ home) Calg is the 3rd game. 9-14-4 (4-4-2 at home) Edm is 4th. 11-10-5 (5-2-2 at home) (This is the 2nd night of a back to back) Van is 5th. 10-13-3 (3-7-1 at home) Seattle is the 6th and final game of the road trip. Sea is 11-7-6 (6-3-3 at home). I believe the Sabres need to win at least 4 of these games to slowing climb back into the race in a crowded Eastern Conference. Calg and Van are the obvious should win games. Wpg without Hellebuyck is very beatable (as we just saw). Now just find away to beat Philly or Seattle and the road trip will be a success. I doubt they’ll beat Edm on the back end of a back to back with the Oilers having rested for 3 days. Quote
Taro T Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Can hope for W's in all of them, but can't realistically expect a W in Edmonton or Seattle. Edmonton, because they're rested, at home, and a tough matchup without the last line change, and the Sabres rarely win out there. Seattle, because until the Sabres actually beat them, they haven't done so and there's little reason to be expecting that 1st W. Calgary should be an almost automatic W, because they're really bad and for some reason the Sabres play really well in that barn. Could see them getting the W in Winnipeg, but after playing so horribly last night, they'll be looking to make up for getting embarrassed. That'll be a tougher game to steal than it should be. Could see them winning in Vancity or Filly, but can also see them laying an egg in either or both. Won't be what they need, but am expecting 2-2-2; maybe 3-2-1 with the 2nd OT loss turning into a SO win. And if Winnipeg is determined to make up for yesterday, 2-3-1. (And combined with the Minny game last week, would give them a 7 game stretch at or above 0.500 on the road. Which could give them a huge boost of confidence to at least do close to that on the road moving forward.) The wildcard is how much of a bounce do they get should Norris stay healthy through the whole trip and play like he did yesterday. Quote

DarthEbriate Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I'm going to add the 1st home game after the road trip because it's also against Philly. This is a Philly Cheesesteak Roadtrip Sandwich that will save or end the Sabres season. The Sabres are mostly healthy. They have a chance to right their road record and unite as a lineup against weak teams. They weren't "in it" at US Thanksgiving, but the road trip will either launch them into contention or effectively end the season. 12/3 @PHI -- they currently sit in the final WC spot. They have your spot, start taking it. W 5-3. 12/5 @WPG -- Just defeated them. Hellebuyck still won't be back, you're still faster than they are. Go win it. W 4-2. 12/8 @CGY -- They just embarrassed you, but you have their number in Calgary. They're still one of the worst teams in the league. Go win 5-2. 12/9 @EDM -- Just defeated them. They are still severely underperforming and are basically a two-player team with no goaltending. (2nd night of back-to-back, this is the toughest game on the slate). OTL! 2-3. 12/11 @VAN -- they're bad. Go win. Plus, I'll be there, so I demand to be entertained. W 6-3. 12/14 @SEA -- they're also bad. Two days of rest! Win here for the first time ever, you punks! W 5-0. 12/18 PHI -- three full days of rest to reacclimate to home. You've caught them on the hot streak, time to take their spot. W 4-3. Finish the sandwich 6-0-1. Yum, yum, yum. 33 GP and 39 points in the standings, probably good for 8th-9th in the conference. And then they're just getting started! (until a new rash of injuries and they back up the hot streak with 5 losses in a row -- because they like to Sabre with us.) Quote
quill Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I'm guessing they'll only pick up 5 points. I hope they prove me wrong: Philly - W in OT Wpg - L Calg - L Edm - L Van - W Seattle - L in OT caused by a Tage Thomas giveaway leading to a Seattle odd man rush & score Quote
K-9 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago 8 out of the 12 points available. Don’t care how they do it against who. Quote
Eleven Posted 55 minutes ago Report Posted 55 minutes ago Good question. I see shades of 2005-06 here. I don't think the team will have the same success, but I do think Ruff is getting more out of less, which is exactly his main skill. 1 Quote
Sabres73 Posted 13 minutes ago Report Posted 13 minutes ago Was it last year we swept a western Canada road trip? Quote
#freejame Posted 12 minutes ago Report Posted 12 minutes ago Something something west coast road trips something something bonding. Was it last season or the year before that we were great on the road but couldn’t win at home? Give me a 3-1-2 record or better. I want to believe! Quote
