bob_sauve28 Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Obviously, he looked great, lots of speed and skill. If he stays healthy he could really be a huge improvement for the team. 1 Quote
#freejame Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago He’s certainly got some speed to him. I don’t think there was ever a question of skill. It’s all about how long he’s able to stay on the ice to use it. I seem to remember him being our best player in the preseason. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago He's a dynamic player who can drive play and finish. We just need to pray that he can stay (mostly) healthy. Quote
thewookie1 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago He has one specific issue, health/availability. He's a 1st line talent with Tim Connolly's reliability (Connolly in my opinion could of been a superstar with his skill, I don't see Norris being Connolly level) 1 1 Quote
matter2003 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago If he stays healthy he is a very good player at both ends. The problem is his staying healthy. Quote

If he can stay healthy and play like he did last night then he’ll make a huge positive impact. Unfortunately, he has played in 5 of a possible 47 games since joining the Sabres. That doesn’t exactly lend confidence that he’ll be in the lineup often enough to make a difference. Quote
DarthEbriate Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago My thoughts? Lando Norris(sian). Joshdo Norrissian? He's the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. I thought you could help with some repairs. They told me they fixed me. It's not my fault! 1 Quote
Gatorman0519 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Only one game, but what I saw was pretty spectacular. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Posted 2 hours ago I just hope he plays well on the road, because we need the help NOW Turn into road warriors and get back into the race Quote
In The Buff Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago if he can play more than a few games in a row for us here, maybe we have something. But that's really the 1st bar he needs to reach. Being out there & available for a real stretch of games. Up until this point, thats been his major issue. Obviously if we have any hope of moving up in the standings, we'll need a healthy Norris playing like he did last night. 1 Quote
nfreeman Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Given his history and how skinny he looks, it seems impossible that he would stay healthy through a regular season and especially those extra games after the regular season that some other teams get to play in. 1 1 Quote
msw2112 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago One thing that I believe is overlooked about Norris is that he's only 26. If he can somehow find a way to get past the injuries (not likely, but you never know), he's a not only a really talented player, but he has a lot of years ahead of him. He was certainly a difference maker on the ice last night and a huge addition to the power play. Quote
matter2003 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago All I can say is that top line of Benson-Norris-Thompson looks like it's going to be a menace to the rest of the NHL for as long as it can stay healthy and intact. Quote
LGR4GM Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Josh Norris in his Sabres career: 5games, 3g, 2a, for 5pts Quote

That is just so hard to get past! He just looks frail. I just hope they does not prove to be the case going forward. Quote
Ctaeth Posted 45 minutes ago Report Posted 45 minutes ago It's hard not to get excited for this team with him present. With his defensive play and offensive skill/finishing ability... he really ties up the lineup nicely. I'm excited for what could be, but also just waiting for the other shoe to drop with another injury. Quote
Taro T Posted 39 minutes ago Report Posted 39 minutes ago Expecting we'll get a better feel for what that line will really be bringing tomorrow night in Filly. Hoping Norris is the PPG player that was billed as his ceiling, but he had to have adrenaline out the wazoo yesterday finally getting to play for the 1st time in 2 months and getting to play against a team that simply didn't have anything in the tank. The very 1st game LaFontaine played for the Sabres, they looked like the best team in the league (they weren't, at least not that season). Thornton's 1st game as a Snark was one of the very few W's that team got in Buffalo and they might've been able to beat an all star team made up of the '77 Habs, the '82 Aisles, and the '85 Eulers that night. And who was the scrub the Sabres got from SJ that got 2 goals in his 1st game as a Sabre and then nearly never scored again for them. That wasn't Norris' 1st game as a Sabre, but considering his health issues and how long he'd been out, it kind of felt like it was. If he gets a goal and an assist tomorrow, we could have something special (at least for the 40 or so games he plays each season). 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted 37 minutes ago Report Posted 37 minutes ago Cozens: 8g, 8a, 16pts in 25games with a -11 (Norris is at +/-0) Quote
That Aud Smell Posted 13 minutes ago Report Posted 13 minutes ago Was Norris taking faceoffs last night? From what I've gathered, he's sustained at least 2 serious injuries (one on opening night this season) as a result of taking a faceoff. Quote
