I am not worried about roster spots. Rotation could be an issue because they never seem to manage it right. Yes the defense is playing well. For the most part they have all season. We just have not been converting chances in a number of games. Last night we did. I was doing a dive into the 22-23 Sabres season and how important scoring was given the crap defense they had on the ice that year. I will do it in another thread. Quote

The first good was he won a battle and cut into the middle of the ice and made a nice outlet pass. The second was on the point for the PP, I thought he had good movement and deception. The one bad play he went in stick first and lost the battle in his own zone, felt like a really weak attempt at puck retrieval. Quote
ska-T Palmtown Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I am probably the only one ... but does anyone else have the same problems? A) See @RETURNTOGLORY's username the same way I do? B) Find it hard to concentrate on anything else other than thinking "If only it wasn't all caps, it would fit all in one line?" Or just me? Quote

That was one of the best defensive games the Sabres played all year. Every time the Jets had a rush, one or more Sabre got back and diffused the situation. And when the Jets got a shot off UPL saw it clean and only had to make one save. Only one breakaway and UPL stopped it. Someone is getting traded from the goalie room. Unlikely it will be Ellis because of waiver rules. (Sabres have to offer Ellis to any team that made a waiver claim for him plus the Blues.) So one of UPL or Lyon is being shopped. We know scouts and GMs have been at Sabres games. Quote
Huckleberry Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Only saw the first period then went to bed, but that was the best one I seen all year. Quote
rickshaw Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Tough 6 game road trip. Have to be .500 after it. They don’t typically do well when out west. Hopefully they can beat their cousins. Maybe finally beat Seattle? 1 Quote

As you and others have pointed out, this team is starting to have depth and internal competition. So when injuries inevitably happen, the replacements can adequately fill in.   I don't think he is out for the season, I think that would have been announced if it were true. Quote

No, he (John Muckler) was at the bar. Drake Hotel in Chicago. We talked about the 4 OT win against the Devils in the 1994 playoffs, when Muckler was behind the bench. I'm sure some of the more senior members of Sabrespace remember that one. Danforth is listed as week to week. Kulich is listed as month to month. Quote

I know Metsa is the easiest one to send down if Östlund plays, but maybe it’s more than that.  Did they say anything about Kesselring not making the trip? Quote

But that would only help with the roster crunch for a day or 2. 1 Quote
