Porous Five Hole Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I am an optimist by nature, but dang there is not much to hang your hat on. It is tough for me to reconcile an entire season down the drain in November.  Again. It’s only frickin November.  What else am I supposed to do all winter (that hasn’t even arrived yet). I was hoping the Sabres could finally help get me through the tough winter months instead of being the broken toy I somehow still like to play with.  Survey Says? XXX Quote
Forecheck Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I used to always have the Sabres games on a full screen. Now the best I can muster on game nights is to have them be 1 of 4 squares in my ESPN+ multiview. That’s it. That’s all of the devotion I can do until major changes happen with this clownshow. I stopped spending money for tickets years ago, this is now the most they get out of me. 1 of 4 broadcasts. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I imagine a loss like that must be even more demoralizing than the usual losses. They had some puck luck, some PP activity, decent effort level and still no result. The quit has to come out in some of them for sure. Can't imagine at least some of them aren't thinking how the heck do I get out of here? Watching Rosen try to defend McKinnon behind the net was just comical. They won most of the key puck battles. Team is hopeless. So which Cowboy Junkies song is next? Cause Cheap Is How I Feel? The Things We Do To Each Other? Still Lost? Spiral Down? When The Bottom Fell Out? Misery? The ones I want are, All That Reckoning and then New Dawn Coming. But more likely, We will Never Get Out Of These Blues Alive. Quote
Taro T Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago And though am not a fan of pulling the goalie early when down by only 1 under normal circumstances, would have given VERY serious consideration to pulling UPL when they gained control of the puck on the late PP w/ about 4-1/2 left to go. It gives you a 2 man advantage and you SHOULD be able to win all the loose puck battles as you absolutely can outman the PK on all board battles. Should the PP end with no goals scored, and you get a faceoff, put UPL back in the net until there's about 100 seconds left and try it again. Quote
sabresouth Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago upl with another soft goal. He let's in the soft fourth goal as the game looser. How in the heck are there not firings happening. Quote

Crusader1969 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Like so many games this season, if this were just a one-off, you could live with it. most nights I think the effort is there and they look like a competent NHL team.  BUT these loses aren’t isolated . They’re happening every night. Yes injuries have played a huge role but still something has to give If this was any other NHL franchise , you'd say "it's just not our year".  BUT this isn't any other franchise, it's a circus of a  franchise and it's time to get rid of the lead clown and Fire KA Quote
Nitro60 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Lyon looked like a beer league goalie.  Team rallied to get back into the game. UPL did well.  BUT for the love of God, Lindy stop pulling your goalie. This team is horrible when you do it. It is insane to do this over and over and get the same result. I hate Sabres hockey on November.  Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted 32 minutes ago Report Posted 32 minutes ago I’m not surprised by the outcome, who is at this point?  However, when the game was still in doubt and we had a late PP, was anyone else hoping Ruff would throw caution to the wind and pull the goalie?  If they score a shortie, who cares, but imho the odds of scoring 6 on 4 are significantly higher than 5 on 4 or 6 on 5 in the last 90 seconds.  This team needs to try everything to succeed, why not pull the goalie?  Quote
