Does anyone else besides me think that if we weren't down our 3, 4, 5, and 6th F and Dahlin was actually able to be Dahlin, that we'd be in a playoff spot right now?

The only one I could maybe fault the team for is the #3 being down given his long injury history... Though are we any better with Cozens playing?

It's true that the reasons for firing everyone go way back prior to this season, so there's that, but I kind of think this team when healthy could be good. Unfortunately, we'll be way too far back for it to matter if we ever do get everyone back

“Is a gaping hole at C really worse than the guy the GM signed for 7 years 50 million?” is an odd flex

So Kesselring likes that fans are pretty critical? He likes "the other side of it" that is not nice and not positive?

He's been hearing it from the guys who canceled the stick raise. Have the fans even booed as much this year?

Right in one

There's only 1 way to fix this and Pegula doesn't have the balls to do it. You go through this list and fire 75% of these people. You fire everyone who's been here for 10+ years. Some won't deserve it, you are right, but at this point it is about a hard reset.

It doesn't seem to have been taken out context. I mean, he said it. The context was how are things going in Buffalo for the former Utah players.

...

While he likes it in Buffalo, he does miss the unconditional love he experienced in Utah.

“The fans were unbelievable to me and Doaner last year. That was honestly probably one of the hardest parts, too, other than (leaving) the guys. We had such a good fan base here. It was so nice just seeing all the positive things all the time. I could do no wrong. You see the other side of it now in a hockey market. They’re pretty critical.”

...

It is what it is.

In fairness to the comment, he does acknowledge that this is a "hockey market". That is something that has to be remembered and maybe the league needs to think about and go talk to Terry. Destroying an actual hockey market takes a lot of work and he's frakking it good.

He isn't used to the fans being critical because he doesn't relate to 15 years of futility in an actual hockey market and how much that hurts. This happens with every new guy they bring in. They only relate to their own time frames. I don't think any of them stop and think "oh my god, for that guy in the stands it's 15 years". Nobody in the organization takes ownership of that and so it continues.

The Utah market will get there someday. They are in their honeymoon phase. A market that has suffered 15 years of incompetence is going to be critical and dark.

What it is is a nothingburger.

He went from a place were the fans still do not know the nuances game, they were actually cheering for calls made against them in Utah.

In Buffalo things are a lot different.   In Buffalo one mistake in a home game can set the entire building off.  The fans know the game and they deserve better.

Depends (on the "playoff..." comment)

Who's in goal?

All of them need to go including the strength and conditioning coaches

ESPECIALLY the S&C coaches

Might need a shaman in that role, in order to reverse whatever hex/curse/bad mojo that's been leveled onto the head of this franchise?

They seem jinxed

We need to stop bringing in guys that even notice this stuff. They should be so freaking focused on improving on the ice that they don’t hear any noise. I honestly don’t know if this is a younger generation thing when they’re always on their phones and always on social media and hearing all the noise but this ***** is pathetic.

Stay off social media and focus on your game. So sick of the whining from these guys. And we have no ability to evaluate players that can stay focused and hold themselves accountable and hold each other accountable

Why are you assuming he's getting this from social media?  He could be at a restaurant and someone could say something to him. But, players are on social media, all the time. You have a completely unrealistic expectation. No matter what, players are aware of the world around them. How much they let it bother them is another story. And I don't think he said it bothered him.

So it didn’t take him long to return to play a game in Utah and then comment on the market. Very thread worthy.

Well, it's pretty normal when a player returns to a market that they get asked to compare the new team with the old team. So, he did. It's not like he randomly commented on it while in Carolina.

Exactly. And who doesn't want unconditional love?

He specifically calls Buffalo a hockey market which insinuates that Utah is not.

If the organization ever figures out how to put a winning product on the ice he'll understand how much better it is in Buffalo than Utah as well, because it's a hockey market.

Great point.

Forever ago, I ran into Teppo and Maxim at Hutch's.  I nodded to them and said "good game last night."  They smiled and nodded back.

I doubt that happens in Utah because I doubt that the public knows who the players are ... yet.

We know hockey in Buffalo.  They are learning it in Salt Lake City.

I think it is a little less Salt Lake and Buffalo hockey markets per se... I think he like Utah and the excitement that went with a new team and expectations at we are just happy to be here... he comes to a hornets nest in Buffalo and uses the term hockey market as a Euphemistic way of saying its really nasty here, people have nothing nice to say about the team, they boo us and the relationship with the fans and the press is one of acrimony and toxicity because of 14 years of abject stupidity and neglect... (aka the is a hockey market here that has a history and its a really bad one) bottom line to me is he has already taken notice of how bad things are here.
