Despite winning 2-0 for a time, the Sabres are playing an absolutely abysmal game tonight. They are fighting the puck, ruining their own scoring chances, playing like they have no idea what their teammates are doing.  And now they are chasing the Mammoth. Ellis is the only  reason they haven't been skated out of the building.

And now it's 3-2.

Not that he wasn't left out to dry by the defense...  but this (half-)roster needs the goalie to steal one or two per period for them.

I keep thinking back to when the young guys broke out like two or three seasons ago, the one where we scored a bunch, but our defense was awful and goaltending was awful.

I just don’t know how Kevyn managed to mangle up that chemistry so badly. All we needed to do was secure a top goaltender, which we definitely had the prospect pipeline to do. And the cap space of course.

But we had so much skill and talent working well together and scoring in bunches. All we had to do was find a way to play some better defense and get a great goaltender.

now we’re back to having not enough skill. And you can see right now guys who can snipe shots for the mammoth. Racking up goals on a guy who’s playing well tonight in goal in Ellis. 

Beyond disappointing. And it’s not like we have a shutdown defense and goalie situation so it was all for naught
