Will Ovechkin score 900 tonight? Will Isak Rosen matter? Can Tage Thompson do something useful? Grab yourself a 40$ chicken parm, a 16$ beer, and settle in for what is almost guaranteed to be a historic game... because of Ovechkin, not Buffalo.

Looked at prices... Decided... Nope. Team isn't good enough at this point for me to buy tickets unless they are very discounted. 

Will probably be flipping between game 7 of the WS and this, but I'm not so excited. Is Washington even good?

Three OTLs in a row.   They need 2 points  tonight.  MW 

 Lyon needs some down time.    UPL or Ellis ?

We surprisingly take a 1st period lead. The wheels falls off in the 2nd but we manage to fight back and go into the 3rd down by 1. We let in 2 ENGs in the 3rd and that completes our evening.

The Capitals are dealing with another center getting injured. They will be on a back-to-back and on the road. If we don't win tonight, it will be an ominous sign of another lost season. I'm not going to get too excited if we win. However, I will get upset with a loss, especially if the other fatigued team plays with more energy.

Great, Oopie back between the pipes. Lucky us. He will backstop a shutout tonight and then all his defenders will serenade all his detractors like me and shout, “See!” As if any and all criticism of UPL isn’t justified. Shutout or not, he is not now nor will he ever be a number one goalie in the show. He is a 25 game per year back up at best. At. Best.

Wow.  You really  don’t like him.  

I think this year will be his final shot at being a consistent goalie for the Sabres.   He has had two flashes of good, but is mostly inconsistent, and he often gets lost in the crease and then stops challenging shooters.  

It doesn’t appear they are going to give opportunity to Ellis the until they feel they have too.

UPL has defenders?

I hope he is amazing tonight (for obvious reasons,) And let’s not pretend that Lyon was the answer, either. He has let in a similar amount of dribblers and high glove side shots.

Zucker has played well with Tage in the past so Greenway on that line is fine.  Tage won’t pass to him anyway.

The top 6 is not going to scare anybody.   This lineup reminds me of how bad of a GM Kevyn is.

I am going to politely disagree with you there Punch, there is not a scenario in 2025 where Jordan Greenway in your Top 6 is fine. 
 

I agree wholeheartedly about GMKA sucking at his job. 
 

One caveat though, usually when I speak ill of a player, they usually have the game of their lives shortly afterwards. So I will take credit for Greenway’s Hat Trick tonight

Or knowing that your Franchise Center asked out when you were appointed GM, maybe draft one of Rossi, Jarvis or Lundell instead of Jack Quinn.
