Because of his boss' faith in him and the EEE approach to ownership, GM Sheevyn could stand five feet from an active lava flow, wearing naught but a robe with its hood up, and not feel the heat.

The Sabres are relatively healthy and should be entering this game well rested, at least compared to the Predators who are playing on a back-to-back. This team finally broke the barrier of winning four games in a row. Is winning five games in a row much of an achievement? For this team, with its fragile psyche and inconsistent play, I would say yes.

At this point, I'm not concerned about particular games and making the playoffs. We are at a stage where this team needs to win at a high clip simply to become a relevant team in the league. Right now this is an afterthought franchise. What's frustrating about this team is that without that devastating and season sabotaging losing streak, this team would be exactly where most of us expected us to be this season i.e. a team seriously battling for a playoff spot. "What ifs" are meaningless and get you nowhere. Just win a game that you should win against a team that is currently flailing and take the two week break on a positive note.

Reading this post was like watching someone trying to resist eating a second chip. There are no "should wins" for the Sabres. Also no amount of winning now will make the franchise relevant. Otherwise you nailed it.

My daughter in Tennessee bought me tickets for this game.  What better way to spend a weekend than with kids, grandkids, 70F temperature, and a Sabres victory!

Just to irritate you I am declaring this game a “should win” game. However, don’t hold me to it. 😊

I'm hoping this team has grown since November, when Cozens said that they thought their next game would be easy.

Hopefully they've figured out that winning in this league is never 'easy'. You need to do the simple things right & compete hard.

Winning 5 in a row would be a nice turnaround for these guys

If the Sabres set a new NHL record for consecutive wins in a season (18) as part of this streak, they'd be on pace for 94 (Obi-Wan voice: "Ninety-four") points. The two current EC wild cards are on pace for 92 and 93 points, respectively.

The fact they had to figure that out after never making the playoffs speaks volumes to the lack of leadership from the players to the coaches to the GM. Immature children all around.

Get there early for the warm ups.  Hopefully the grandkids get a puck.  And most of all, enjoy time with your family.

It’s uncanny how the Sabres so often serve as the “get right” team for struggling opponents.
