How does it feel to be in 2nd place?

Considering the Sabres are in 3rd place, really don't know.

I'll raise you and say point percentage is what counts.  Everyone hasn't played the same number of games. By the end of they year everyone will, and point percentage is what matters (I think there was a time a few years ago when a couple teams had games canceled that weren't made up, of there was a possibility they would not be made up, and the NHL said point percentage would determine playoffs, not total points).  "Total points" is the the mechanism the standings use to consistency of display of standings.

So by point percentage, They are in a 4 way tie for 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in the division.

That was back when women showed some ankle.

Never knock an ankle shot, it may deflect in. It's how my 2nd son came to be.....

Let’s not forget that we were about here last season.  The first 5-10 games or so are a warm up.  Practice heroes tend to look brighter than they really are.  The next 10 games start to filter out the chafe as the serious teams get rolling.

As always, let’s see what American Thanksgiving brings.

Wins in October count the same, which is good, and They appear to be winning in repeatable ways right now.  Can’t really read any more into it than that though.  The grind is barely underway.

One major difference, they've already had a 3 game winning streak.  They didn't get to that until the end of February last season.  And they'd only had a single 2 game win streak prior to NYD.

And, along the same token, they didn't get a home winning streak (of all of even 2 games) until mid-January.  They've won their last 3 home games too.

Yeah, last season started ROUGH. I think they went 3 months without back-to-back wins at one point.

Close.  Won btb as October rolled into November but didn't do so again until the calendar flipped into January.

Didn't win 3 in a row until late February.

It must have been a blink and you missed it type event because I finally caved and looked at the standings and we’re in 7th in the conference. Can jump into 4th tonight.

But 3rd in the division currently. I think a win tonight will be difficult to come by but if they manage it they would jump to 2nd in the division. Gotta find ways to win.

They're on an 82 point pace. What's there to be all super hopeful about?
