Kid's got a lot of growing to do to round out his game.

But the shot and hands are sick.

Glad to see he's going to be in the capable hands of Appert and Peca. It will be interesting to see what they do with him.

Cozens, Krebs, Quinn, Peterka, Rosen, Poltapov, Kisakov, Nadeau, Savoie, Östlund, Kulich and now Neuchev is a ridiculous injection of talent up front in less than 4 years.

And people wonder why they traded Bloom?

Nice! We may shortly be in need of a new Vi(c/k)tor who can shoot and maybe even be a bit reckless.

Start getting this kid some garbage plates and whatever other stuff y'all eat in Rochester and hope he fills out in 2-3 years.

The size/speed combo and SHGs, I think. Someone who knows he's a bottom 6 at best and has to fight for it, rather than a top-end skill who has to learn the battle and fill out the size.

6'2" 165 lbs?

Seth Meyers Lol GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

He’s 19… Another inch and 20-30 lbs of muscle with his shot… Kid could be a beast… Our Nutritionists have a new assignment.

Serious question.  Are people even able to leave Russia right now? Is there a path here?

Yes, most fly through Turkey

Good news, but we need a defenseman now.  Is Novikov (mentioned above) a D-man?  Also, the question above - can they even get out?

Yes he is

That’s great, get him here ASAP. Kisakov should help with his acclimation.

This kid could become something, maybe better than VO, in a few years. I’m excited to see how he does, even at dev.&rookie camps.

The more talent the Sabres have the better the lineup. If there becomes a surplus, move some out for improvements or futures.

Novikov is a Muel type dman. Big LHD that plays physically and excels in his own zone. Has played over a year in the KHL as a teenager which is very impressive.

How has Kisakov looked this past season....any growth, either physically and/or development-wise?

No, we wondered why they traded Bloom because he was one of the few prospects we had that was supposed to have had some sandpaper in his game. Most of the guys we have are skill and speed guys.

No one wondered why we traded Bloom, we wondered if KA received something of value for him.

Josh Bloom is 185 pounds and has averaged 32 penalty minutes a year as a junior.

He was traded for a player who is bigger, grittier, and has already played more games for the Sabres than 13 of the past 15 Sabres 3rd rounders have played in the NHL.

I don’t think this trade means what you think it does.

We traded a player a prospect who wouldn't make our roster in the near or far term for a young bottom pair defenseman who got playing time for us. At worst, he is a depth defenseman. Even with a couple of defensemen added in the offseason he still may be able to secure a bottom pair role. The balance is overwhelmingly in our favor. I'm not denigrating Bloom as a player or elevating Stillman beyond what he is as a player. I don't understand how you can be murmuring about this deal. It's not a major deal but it is a plus deal that makes this team incrementally better.

What did you expect out of this type of deal?

Have any NHL prospects left the country to play in NA in the last year or so?

Off the top of my head, Kisakov did for the Sabres and Kuzmenko for the Canucks and Askarov for the Predators..

There was the Fedotov situation, where he was detained last year for military service after signing with the Flyers, so your question is warranted, but thus far it’s largely been business as usual on the hockey front.

Neuchev was one of about 8 who signed since May 1, the day KHL contracts expired
