Trading up is kinda statistically folly but I’d be up for trading down and picking up an asset, or dealing the pick entirely. I know there’s zero chance of that happening but still.

I honestly thought it was the opposite in hockey than say the NFL. Whereas there is more value in football moving back, it’s more advantageous to move up in the NHL. I’ve been wrong before though.

I think it's more like the drop-off in the NHL is a lot more dramatic.

Pretty good chance you get as good a player at 21 that you do at 12 in the NFL, and that the 2nd you added to make the move will be a player.

Those things aren't nearly as likely in the NHL.

Speaking as someone who’s never been wrong,

- the reason trading up isn’t statistically borne out as a good play very often is because much of the nhl draft is a crapshoot - due in large part to the young (And therefore less predictable) ages at which the prospective talents are drafted at. Paying an asset to move up is most often the result of plain hubris: you are already doing a lot of guessing, doubling down on a guess, unless you’ve got some serious, serious intel, is pretty folly. Trading down and picking up an asset is akin to “knowing what you don’t know”

In the nfl, there’s much more certainly when drafting across the board - players are stepping into line ups immediately. It’s much easier to put a fair price on what you should pay to move up

Thorny's a good guy, it's Lgr you need to watch out for when it comes to the draft talk

Oh, I know. He's bright, it was mainly a joke. Except for his even-handedness about Eichel, that's annoying.

I tried the FC site.

May get an argument from Arizona, they took Axel Sandin-Pellikka at #6 but I snagged him as Axel Pellikka at #109.

Sabres long term RHD depth is no longer an issue with Reinbacher, Willander and Pellikka.

I saw that. I have come away with the impression that the FC site, and some of the others aren't really that reliable.

I love the first four picks.   I'd have to do more research on the others.  But those four picks are quality.

Axel Pellikka is actually Axel Sandin-Pellikka so he is a steal in the fourth round. His hyphenated name was picked in the first round.

Robertson is a young goalie who played in North Bay, didn’t play much because the starter won goalie of the year.

Lardis was on Team Canada U18 team.

Pharand is a kid from Sudbury playing for the Wolves, watched him play often. He also played U18s.

I'm really thinking this is the draft for role players, we have highly skilled put the pick in the net players, but we need those tough grinders who play great to way games, that still score but are a nightmare to play against. We need that between our 3rd and 4th lines. The players who frustrate the ***** out of other lines.

What's the best Really.

2 lines that are dangerous scoring goals.

1 line that is annoying to play against but scores.

1 line that makes your night a living hell.
