I can’t see it being a 3-goalie rotation.

It will be Comrie backing up UPL unless one falters.

Adams has been adamant about UPL’s playing time and Comrie is part of the future.

Yep.

They have 13 games in 22 days coming up.  Could see Anderson getting 1 game in that stretch, 2 tops.  UPL gets 7, maybe 8 and Comrie the rest.

The schedule gets back to that same compactness after the AS break through close to the end of March.  Having a 3rd goalie up to take 1 every 8-10 games could be the smart play.

Vinny, we hardly knew ye.

Okay, not a rotation. That wasn't the best choice of words on my part. Anderson offers the glue that allows Comrie and UPL to move forward. Maybe later in the season the decision will be made to move Andy. But for now, Vinny can be traded or waived and Anderson can pick up occasional games when the schedule gets tight and it's game 2 of a B2B. Anderson in the room is more important than Vinny in the press box.

UPL starting to fade under a heavy workload the last couple games. Makes some great saves but also starting to allow more questionable goals again.

Eric the Red will be back in town soon and he will split the games with UPL about 60 - 40 with Anderson becoming the goalie whisperer from IR.

Not thrilled with that...Comrie wasn't good when he played and allowed more questionable goals than UPL. Like legit WTF? goals. Goals that should never go in in an NHL game...and it was happening once or twice a game.

Comrie started well but when the D started getting multiple injuries he wasn’t as good. He deserves another chance with the D healthy.

This dude better not f**k up a playoff push. Now is not the time for "giving a chance" to someone that sucked.

Cool.  Didn't expect them to take the full 2 weeks before ending the conditioning assignment.

Guess we'll know in the next couple of days if it is Hinostroza or somebody else that is the newest Ra-cha-cha Amerk.

It won’t surprise me if UPL goes back to Rochester. Adams said he needs to play alot, but didn’t say where.

Well, right now he's playing like the 1 in Buffalo.  REALLY don't see him getting sent down, but we'll know who's right in 2 or so days.

And, IMHO, if he survives Comrie getting activated, he'll survive Jokiharju"s activation as well, but whether that's the case remains to be seen as well.

Do I think UPL should stay? Yes. But Adams still has the mindset that this is a building year and that they aren’t ready to compete for a playoff spot.

Disagree slightly.  There's simply no way humanly possible to have watched this team and think they aren't ready to compete for a playoffs spot.  That position is a denial of reality and a misinterpretation of what Adams says.  He is identifying the core of a Stanley Cup contender (something the Leafs have yet to do).  He has never said they aren't ready to compete for a playoff spot.  There's many a slip twixt a cup and a lip and a large gap between playoff contender and Cup contender.  As long as UPL is playing and winning games in Buffalo he isn't going anywhere.  Vinnie Hinnie will not have a problem clearing waivers, and, frankly, who cares if he was claimed?  He's not been missed in the lineup, and we have more young forwards in Roch than you can shake a stick at if the need arose.

The entire fanbase would be justifiably shocked and outraged if UPL were sent down.  Now, if he came out and layed 3 eggs in a row that sentiment would change, but Comrie looks like hot garbage.  Adams isn't going to let him play unless he has to.

Even if Comrie was 100% ready, they'd have used the full two weeks to buy time with UPL playing well. Now they have to make hard decisions.

I’ll be convinced otherwise about Adams when he makes a trade for a top four defenseman.

I believe the Granato quote was something like “we will not trade away winning long-term for a win tonight.”

That is a far cry from “not ready to compete for a playoff spot”.

They will make trades when the right trade becomes available.

Don’t get me wrong, I think they need to add another defenceman too. The right defenceman. At the right price.

In the meantime, they continue to climb back into the playoff race without a trade, and they will be adding a top-4 defenceman without one in about a week

Chychrun's asking price is outrageous

Additionally, his price sets the price for lesser players.  For instance, the price for Luke Schenn out of Vancouver is correspondingly astronomical.

He looks like a back up goalie to me /  Played like a 1B option for next year at one point before our defense got decimated.

But that is part of not sacrificing tomorrow for a (possible) modest improvement today.  Expect that the players would notice Comrie getting stuck in Ra-cha-cha for an extra week just to allow management to avoid pulling the trigger on a decision they've already made; and they'd know that isn't he RIGHT thing to do.  Management can't ask the players to dothe right thing & then not do it themselves.

Expect they'll buy more trust & buy-in from the players by risking losing Hinostroza this week than by waiting to see if somebody gets injured 1st.

Maybe JJ or Quinn.  They're still waiver exempt, innit?

Would put any amount of money down that neither member of the kid line sees Ra-cha-cha again.  (Unless it is strictly to get them additional playoff experience & still don't see that happening either.)
