Is there a significance to the lines on the field?

Yes.  On the face off to start a quarter & after a goal only the 2 players facing off can be in the neutral zone initially.  The other 4 runners from each team have to be outside the restraining lines.

When substituting, the player coming off the field needs to be in that box in front of his bench before the replacing player can enter play (i.e., leave that box).

Attacking players cannot be in the goal crease before the ball is in the net.  If any part of their body is touching the crease itself or the line defining it prior to the ball crossing the goal line the goal will be waved off.

And, teams have 8 seconds to get the ball over the midfield line.  Once the ball is over it the team can't bring it back to their side of the field.  No over & back allowed, similar to basketball.

Thanks.

I knew the crease rules. Just didn’t know other stuff.

2-2 through 1, 8-8 through 2.

Bandits chased Hill in the 3rd and won 18-13.

It was theJosh Byrne night as he ended up 1 goal shy of Steenhaus' Bamdits record of 8 goals in a game.  His 1st 4 were 2 PP & 2 PK goals.  Pretty sure the last 3 were even strength.

3 shorties for the Bandits & 1 EN.  Believe the MD 20-20's only had 2 PP goals.  They were 7 of 11 their first 2 games.  (They might've had a late one.  Lots of penalties in the 4th both ways.)

Good game for the good guys & Vinc played well but he can definitely be beat high over his left shoulder.  That killed them against Albany.  It was better tonight, but still an issue.

Got lucky, had thought this game wasn't happening for a couple more weeks otherwise would've got tix.

Hartley played well and Fields has made a massive difference for the Kin-ig-hit Hawks this year.  Don't get why the Bandits left him exposed to the expansion draft.

Bandits looked good through 3 but couldn't finish them off.  Not scoring on the free PP to start the 4th Q set the tone for the final frame.

Finally watched the rematch between Georgia & Buffalo from last week before tonight's game.  Took way too many penalties but got likely they were playing a very bad team.  Georgia had problems scoring when not on the PP.

Bandits started the night ok getting the games 1st goal from Buchanan but then had a devil of a time scoring though they dominated play in the 1st.  Outshot the Wings 18-9 but were trailing 3-2 at the break.  2nd quarter was a disaster for the most part as they were in the box pretty much the whole quarter.  They were down 6-2 and down a man with 24 seconds left in the half when Filly took a dumb penalty and allowed the Bandits to score a contested goal w/ 0.4 seconds left.

That goal sparked them to a 7-0 run and didn't give up another goal until there was less than 2 minutes to go in the 3rd.  That quarter ended 9-7.

In the 4th, Filly scored a quick one and thought they'd tied it up but the shooter had stepped in the crease before getting the ball & the goal was disallowed.  Bandits scored the next 3 then Weiss got an empty netter.  Filly got one in garbage time.  Final 13-9 good guys.

They play at the Riptide tomorrow at 7:30. The game will be shown on one of the MSG's, probably the one that shows Aisles games, but not positive which one.

It's too bad they lost the home opener I took the kids to but sounds like they've been doing well since.   I have to say the kids enjoyed the Bandits game more than the couple of Sabres games I took them to.  Thanks for the updates!

They tend to go as Vinc goes.  When he's off, they seem to get there themselves.  If not for the late goal in the 2nd Q waking them up, this could've been a much different game.  The 3rd was amazing, as they held the ball for about 11 of the 1st 13 minutes.  They chased the starter Higgins (who came back in the 4th) which was a huge turnaround as they couldn't score to save their lives after the Buchanan goal in the 1st.  A PP was their only other tally & they were getting great scoring chances but Higgins was a wall.

Earlier this year, they played very well vs Halifax and then destroyed a bad Georgia team in Georgia.  They barely got past that same squad the next week at home.

Vinc has generally been good, but wasn't against Albany nor tonight in the 1st 1/2.  Expect he'd like some back from last week too.

The team really misses Fields & Frasier too.

Bandits won 16-10.

Byrne left the game in the last minute of the 2nd w/ what seemed to be an ankle injury and didn't return.

7-7 at the 1/2.  Bandits pulled away in the 3rd.  4 goals & at least 7 assists for the Great Dhane.  McKay had 4 goals as well.  Brandon Robinson w/ the Hattie.  Nanticoke had a pair.

Vinc was a wall in the 2nd half.

The Riptide are now 0-5 at home.

Bandits lost Nanticoke in the 2nd Q & Brandon Robinson in the 3rd Q, but managed to overcome a 6-2 2nd Q deficit to win in OT 14-12 over the Wings to stay in at worst a 3 way tie for 1st w/ the Kin-ig- hit Hawks and Rock at 8-2.  All 3 were at 7-2 heading into tonight.

And, of course the Great Dhane got the winner.  5 goals & 5 assists for the NLL's leading scorer.

Ian McKay went out catching a knee to the head in the 4th as well.
