He had his chance here. Perhaps the Sabres should send him a bill for development services rendered, room and board at development camps, and the free sightseeing tours of the area.

Screw him.

Haha, they should claim him then healthy scratch him evry game for the rest of the season out of spite.

I will give the Kings a 5th round pick for Peterson…and they retain 50%.

Doesn't work.  Sabres are certainly on the M-NTC.  They can sign him off waivers but almost definitely can't trade for him.

Theoretically, they could claim him and make a side trade to try to effectively cut his salary in half.  (An Okposo for a good kid trade, as an example.)  But there wouldn't be an incentive for the Kings to do that, presumably.  Though they are REAL tight to the cap, so even if they wanted to do something like that, that wouldn't be an option.

Heck, w/ the cap space it would free up for them, if the Sabres did claim him the Kings should have a gentleman's agreement in place to give the Sabres a 2nd for Bishop's contract.

Everyone who is fully erect for the two NCAA goalies in the pipeline should look at this and calm the hell down

With all due respect to the uncertainty of the position, Devon Levi’s performance is far and away above anything that Cal Peterson achieved.

Portillo is a run of the mill good goalie prospect, a crapshoot.

In Cals best year in the ncaa he had a .926sv% and 6 shutouts. He had 11 total ncaa shutouts in 3 years.

Devon Levi has 13 shutouts in 2 years to date and his worst year (this year) has him with a .936sv% and his best year was .952sv%

Anyways anyone looking at jack quinns ahl production should look at nick Baptiste's and calm the hell down.

What?  Why would anyone compare Baptiste to Quinn? Nick was a 3rd rd pick who had 48 points his draft year.  Quinn was a top 10 pick who had 52 goals his draft year (& 89 pts total).  In the AHL Quinn had an all time great season at 20 years old, Nick not so much.    Talk about apples or oranges.

The comparison of Petersen is Portillo.  Their college numbers are very similar.

It was a joke about comparing Levi to Cal.

I agree with the bold.

It wasn't intended as a direct comparison to either. It was a comment about how nobody knows how either one of them are going to shake out at the NHL level despite rampant optimism. Yes, Levi is tearing up college hockey. He's still short by NHL standards. We will see how he fares. We won't know until he gets here.
