The kids really look like kids. I’m not sure if they realize how much harder they have to mean their passes. That’s actually true of everyone on the team, but especially with the young’n’s. HumanSlinky39 Posted November 16, 2022 Report Share Posted November 16, 2022 (edited) Bottom line, we're icing 2-3 defensemen (Bryson/Pilut/Clague) who have no business being on an NHL roster. They're traffic cones and don't move the needle offensively to offset it. Joker looked bad tonight, but he's been at least serviceable in the past. Has been for all these years. I would tell every defenseman that's not named Dahlin that they can't pinch. Ever. If you pinch you're benched. Bobbled the puck quite a bit. Skinner could’ve had 4 easily. Little things cost ya in this league. With all of the capital we have, there's no excuse for not offering some up to bring in another top-4 defensemen. I didn't bellyache standing relatively pat in the offseason because of the momentum built in March/April & because he probably wanted to see what some of these guys can do. But, once the breakdowns occur like this, you have to address them...especially when you have the assets to do so. 'Muel being out hurts because I think he's probably our best straight-up defender, but even when he comes back, you're still icing Bryson who is just not a guy who should be seeing regular NHL minutes. This doesn’t need to be about making a big swap to find the wins we need to be a playoff team - I’m pretty sure a necessary, reasonable move for an area of need that helps us win A LITTLE MORE would be pretty beneficial to the growth of this team The main objective can still be growth, but you need to help them. Help your team, Adams. There’s no rule that says they can’t learn while winning. Who knows, maybe they’ll actually, gasp, learn a little *more* by winning, a little more. Learn how to win, a little. Simply crushing tbh Sorry Thorny, but my honest opinion is that this team is spinning it’s wheels. Do they look better than the disasters of the past decade? Perhaps. But what does it matter? Other teams in the division have also improved and we’re seeing another instant replay of seasons past. Done by US Thanksgiving again. I really thought it would take until about late February at the earliest for this season. Nope. I wish I shared your optimism. They have beaten it out of me now.
