Pittsburgh lost. Making us down 5 points with 1 game in hand….

You all know what’s coming. Buffalo will lose out on the playoffs by 1 point. They will make a historic run to 8th place. Then comes the last game against none other than the Columbus Blue Jackets…. You know the rest of the 2022-2023 story

Dad Kposobi tells Jackikin Eichwalker that he can't win, and if Jackikin strikes him down he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine...

Followed by Tuch Icewalker, Jeff Solo, and Tagebacca teaming up with a snarky Princess Levi and a bunch of rebellious pilots to blow up a space station Stanley Cup?

Looking ahead it looks like there's the following matchups:

Wednesday: FLA vs TOR, NYI vs WSH

Thursday: FLA vs MTL, PIT vs NSH,

Friday: BUF vs NYR

Saturday: PIT vs BOS, BUF vs PHI, FLA vs CBJ, NYI vs TBL

Sunday: NYI vs CAR, PIT vs PHI

The teams ahead of us all have a bunch of loseable games coming up... Its possible that provided the Sabres do their part that we can ground by the end of the weekend.

Beating NYR and PHI will be big IF's though... But it'd be great to see the bandwagon rockin again if they do.

The isles are out of striking distance at this point IMO.  But if Pitt continues at this rate, they are going to play themselves out of the playoffs.  It's been there for the taking as pretty much all the teams fighting for 8th have gone ice cold.  Pitt, Fla, Buff, Wash, and Ottawa have all been awful their last 10.  It's almost like no one wants to actually take the spot

Lots of losses coming up for them, don’t bet on them yet.

Winner faces Boston and automatically gets swept. Maybe 4-1 series. These are the playoffs lol

Panthers and Isles win...

Really, it's between Buffalo and Pitt at this point. If you play well enough to overtake them, you play well enough to put distance between the other close teams.

Too little too late I fear, but not "mathematically" out yet.

Reinhart and Montour doing their best to keep the Sabres out of the playoffs...........again.

They have to surpass the Panthers too.

Montour having an incredible season. Might pass Dahlin soon in points.

Would have liked to see him play in Granato’s system.

Just another example of how directionless the prior GM was. Use the 1st o/a pick on Dahlin, one of the most dynamic young d-men to come along in a generation. Trade a first for Montour, a strong skating high event d-men. Add these two to a base of forwards that includes Eichel, Reinhart, Mittelstadt, Thompson, Skinner. Then hire Ralph Krueger to implement the low event system used to get the talent-starved Swiss men’s hockey team into the medal round of international tournaments.

Don't forget his obsession with cawlidge hawkey/non CHL players in drafts with the idea "we have their rights for longer" only to see us have to trade one before he walked and a strong possibility a first rounder walks and we get essentially a 3rd round pick as compensation. Botts was such a clueless moron.

Montour did for the back half of that season. It just wasn't sufficient for him to stay with the overall switchup/rebuild that was ongoing again. And as a UFA, I can't blame him for going to a team higher up the standings and with a similar run-and-gun style.

But he'd have been a top-4 (and PP2 guy) with the Sabres last season for sure. Hard to say about this year with Boushh and Joker on the team. Maybe Dahlin would've stayed on the left side at all times. C'est la vie.

As always every team we need to lose finds a way to win regardless.

Ottawa blows a 3 goal lead after dominating Philly and wins on the goalie giving the puck to their guy.

Feels like every team plays us like their life is at stake but anyone else, eh.

idk I watched that game and it was crazy. The arena was nuts over Ryan Reynolds being there (and maybe buying the team). Guys were being physically destroyed all over and fights galore. It was almost like 1970s hockey. DesLauriers has 2 fights with 2 different guys on the same sequence. Just nuts but also kind of fun to watch. Ottawa was playing hard. Philly just does that to people lately. Torts and Briere up in the press box pointing at people and (presumably) discussing who to "subtract".
