I just moved here (Nashville) and went to the game Tuesday. While you’re not wrong, I found much of the in-game entertainment to be incredibly obnoxious. The game felt more like an event than a hockey game. The rink is infinitely nicer though.

I believe you're a vet?  The VA system in Nashville is excellent.

That’s great to hear. I’ve been going back and forth with them about my shoulder for years, hopefully I’ll get some luck now.

The VA is a large reason in why I stayed here when I retired in 14. Are you in Nashville or one of the burbs? Alot of specialists are in Murfreesboro. Clarksville has a nice clinic that was built just a couple years ago, and the Byrd clinic on base sees Veterans and family members. If you have any questions or need any info/assistance PM me.

Unfortunately, if the Sabres do sneak in, wouldn't be at all surprised if it was as the 1st WC.  Which would put them against the Canes whom they haven't matched up well against rather than the B's who they have played tough.  Hopefully that changes Wednesday.

Back in '06, the Otters destroyed the Sabres in early season matchups but the script was flipped that spring.  So, it could change, but not really expecting it.

That's true, the Canes can play the speed game we play (they thrive on it) but with more added tenacity and experienced skill. They have better 2 way players as well. Our shot would be a mismatch in styles and obviously some luck. I just kind of figure if we sneak in we'd be at the bottom and thus play the Bruins.

Everything you said about the Canes is true. They are an impressive team. Although they are not a flashy team, they are a relentlessly grinding team that doesn't allow you to relax. It's a top to bottom hard-working roster with no one player sticking out. Boston is known for their toughness. Carolina had them backpedaling all game long. They are an impressive team.

Brind’Amour is a smart coach, he exposed some flaws for all to see.

The Bruins are showing cracks, I think they were playing way above their abilities. I had them pegged to be battling the Caps and Pens in the geezer category. Their start has been impressive.

I’ll pull for the Bruins vs the Leafs, that’s it.

I can’t recall any team in any sport that plays the way their coach played like the Canes do. Every player on that team plays like Brind’Amour did. Every one of them. It’s no wonder they’re such a pain in the ass to play against.

They are the personification of their coach. To consistently play that grinding style of play in a long and depleting season is quite impressive.

Most of the prognostications that I read prior to the season indicated that this group/players would be on the downside and the team would start to slide back. Many analysts prior to the season indicated that now was the time to start refreshing the roster with younger players. At least for this season they were wrong.

Let's see what happens down the stretch. They just lost 3 straight and gave up 11 goals in the process. Are they starting to wear down?

Maybe so. What I can say now is that their record is impressive, especially when many analysts were predicting that they were a team that was going to slide back. As you said: We shall see.

Thank you. We're renting in Germantown for the time-being. My GFs family is in Franklin but I work downtown so I'm not sure where we will be long term here. I still need to change my care to here, just a lot going on with a baby coming in a few weeks and moving. So you'd be like 50 miles away or so at Campbell right?

Lindholm and Ullmark have been extremely good for the bruins and they have ridden that to their early  success.  They are really missing DeBrusk and Taylor Hall has reverted to the Taylor Hall we saw here so they were scoring on 3 lines early, but now it's all about Pasternak and the usual old guard again which is making them more ordinary and they definitely have cracks.

Yes, about 50-60 minutes from Germantown. 65N, 24W, at exit 86 you turn left, gate 4 will be about five minutes down the road, that's where you'll find the Commissary/PX. If you're going to the Byrd clinic it's quicker to go through gate 1.
