Instead of letting “The Flower” sprout onto the UFA market, the Wild kept Marc-Andre Fleury in the fold. The Wild signed “MAF” with a two-year, $7 million deal ($3.5M per year). These are last year's numbers but the Sabres could offer up to $4.1MM/AAV for 5 years and only end up owing Dallas a 2nd round pick. I don’t think GMKA is sitting on his hands but I think it’s going to be tough. Most G with a NMC probably have Buffalo on the no trade list, a quality FA probably wants to play for a contender so maybe a guy like Holtby with something to prove would want to come here?
