For example, Quenneville got his during his 3rd job, Trotz his second, Laviolette his second, and Sutter his 4th. I guess Lou being Lou decided it was time to put his stamp on this version of the NYI. Hard to question Lou given his track record. Easy to question him. What's he done to improve the islanders? They are a boring team with few young players and almost no prospect pool. It's been a decade since Lou did anything and you gotta question his understanding of where the game is at this point. They do have a very talented but aging forward group and great goaltending. They need Granato to coach them up. That doesn’t mean that his teams can’t score, but those Caps teams had to go through an adjustment for a couple years as they learned how to play the type of defensive game he required of them. Yeah, the focus is largely on the teams what missed the playoffs as possible destinations for Trotz. There are teams in the playoffs that could make a change too. None the less, GMs need to be held accountable for hiring guys like that. Look at Meatballs. He’s got the kids flying. Florida, Tampa, Colorado.
