They're playing the Stanley Cup champions w/ their full roster including their #1 while the Sabres play w/ their #4 goalie & no Tuch, Thompson, Okposo, Mittelstadt, nor even Krebs.  And Olofsson is a shell of what he was back in October.  This is about as bad a mismatch as you can get in this league.

A voice of reason, thank you.

I think part of what you are seeing is that when "the season is never about winning anyway", at some point, motivation sags.

I agree, but I think most of us were expecting PROGRESS, even if it’s in the “two steps forward, one step back” mode. Are we seeing the progress most of us were expecting?

I’m not just talking about tonight, for the record.

I could have predicted most of these responses.

Repeat after me, we are not talented enough. It isn't about hits or motivation or coaching, it's simply a far superior team beating their opponent. Like Georgia v. Vanderbilt

I think there's some middle ground. It's ok to not want the team to be *so* poor that even the infusion of youth we have coming would seem to not be even close to lifting us back to relevancy. We need to see a little bit more than this.

Not even talking about today, like you said, Tbay is really good. But this team is worse this season than they should be - Adams is answerable for the talent of the group he assembled, in net, on D, at F.

Shouldn't be this bad. It's rolling the dice on the culture you are looking to establish.

For me, unfortunately, COVID has deprived me of the ability to definitively answer this.  We've simply had too little time at full strength this year for me to decide one way or the other.

Yes.

And if you're a... let's say a Bjork...  who is a 4th liner on any other team and really playing for an NHL future as opposed to fading into the AHL, then you need to do something. Do something so you can increase your trade value or UFA value.

Adams didn't outfit the team with enough help. There isn't enough depth - injuries hit harder than other teams. That's my opinion anyway. I think he should have done more - haven't shifted on that since the offseason.

To be clear: Eakin, Hinostroza, Jankowski, Hayden, Miller, Pysyk, Hagg,Butcher, Subban, Tokarski, Caggiula, Anderson, Ofalvie, and (yes) Johnny Boychuk. You want any of these back, gonna have to fight for them on FA market!!!!!

Thanks for platitudes Robbie…..’get on a roll’……

Rem pitlick anyone?

All teams have bad games, it's just the good teams bad games are the Sabres best games. We're this season and next away from talking about playoffs, this game should show that.
