Major Changes to The Canucks Hockey Department

well the fans have been calling for Jim Benning's head for quite some time now.  Firing the coach is the last thing in a GM's tool bag before he loses his job.  Will be interesting to see if Boudreau makes a difference with the games remaining this season.

Now imagine being that abysmal for 10 years. Another franchise that chopped off everyone’s head with 6 weeks of losing. Lol.

Some teams demand better. The Sabres, not so much.

Benning has been bumbling around there for almost 7 years now. (He was hired in 2014) Signed a myriad of awful contracts and made multiple bad/questionable trades. I honestly feel bad for their next GM who'll be trying to fix a roster with a supposed civil war going on while having almost his entire roster under contract . Just look at their CapFriendly....

I'm not saying they're terrible but the last 2 years they've merely piled onto a roster that had 1 good run during the COVID playoffs.

Sabrespace 2011:  Fire everybody!  Sabrespace 2021:  Why hasn't firing everybody worked yet?

Then hire a bunch of unqualified newbies to do it all over again. The Pegulas have been an absolute curse to this once proud franchise and its fans. They can’t demand better but they certainly feel that they know better. Pfffft.

Much like the Sabres they’ve had a problem with direction. Hire Linden , fire Linden. Hire the Sedens. But what is their role ? Are we rebuilding ? Are we going for it ? The hosts on 690 love to laugh about the Sabres org. And the city of Buffalo. But they’re not much better. They had to do something. Green had lost the room. But unlike the Sabres I doubt they tear it down and start over.

This more recent time, we didn't exactly have a ton to tear down; we had a wooden shack on the beach lol
